I belong to several membership clubs around the DC and I can assure you, the clubs have never had to send a letter such as the one referenced in this thread, ever to members.

Therefore, I'd say CC kids are worse behaved than another population of kids.

The kids are just sneakier. They look angelic in their Oxfords and ties but then they turn around and say or do cruel things.

Most members of congress cannot afford to join expensive clubs like ccc. Also many of their families do not live in dc or go home to their districts for the summer so it doesn't make sense to belong to a dc country club.

I'm not upper crust, nor do I pretend to be, but I have been in Chevy. I like many DCUMers work in "big law," which is filled with Chevy members.

Everyone is society is judged. People judge the choices made by the poor, by the middle class, new money, old money, everyone.

If the rich don't want judgy eyes on them they shouldn't live ostentatiously. Toughen up.

Good for the club for doing something about this. I hope they follow through and "punish" some of the families. They need a reality check.

One time when I was there 10-15 years ago I saw a valet keying a car. Random, unrelated fact.

It is not that big of a problem...Winter Center redone and goldfish being shoved into radiators...this has been going on for a long time...it only matters now because room redecorated! Mountain out of mole hill and slow news day at what is left of The Washington Post. The inner circle is probably 3 members of the House committee who have been alerted to increase of goldfish population in the air ducts by whomever happens to be doing the vacuuming that week... If you will recall, the original purpose of this thread was to --ahem -- "discuss" the letter that went out to the club membership. That letter was made public. So it's obvious there is a problem, as noted by the inner circle of the club.

I am willing to bet that 90% of the people on this thread have never been inside Chevy or any similar club and certainly not long enough to form an opinion on the people or what goes on.
