Nah, OP (or some other posters) went beyond Fox News rhetoric and started going into Stormfront-level rhetoric with the faux-Ebonics and the like.

I was with OP until she started spouting off standard-issue Fox News rhetoric. Her story also seems *too* idealized (grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, still works w/ Black kids, etc.)

But ... assuming it is all true:
As a PP mentioned, the arbitrator had the power but only in that localized interaction. Hell, the arbitrator, I am sure, could have declared OP in contempt of court and made her spend overnight in jail (come on we all know a large number of arrests are for Contempt of Cop.)

It is entirely possible the arbitrator decided to "show whitey something" and slap court costs + the fine on OP, then stopped off at a department store on the way where he/she was followed for Shopping While Black.

"OP got caught speeding and had to pay her ticket. She has suffered horrific racism and she is still not over it nine years later. Please send her your thoughts and prayers."

Many Black people need our prayers much more than OP-they still have not gotten over Slavery and keep making excuses and crying racism over something that happend over a hundred years ago. This is a FREE country for everyone including Blacks! Perhaps some failed to get the memo!

Would love to here some of the Black folks examples of Systemic and Institutional racism........In this country and in the past 5 years. If you can't come up with anything better than a clerk following you in a store or a cop pulled you over don't bother.

OP, I'd like to hear from the other side. Those that claim systemic wide-spread opression did not offer any examples. Only pointed toward research which is obscure at best.

Every black person in that room should have been made to pay their traffic violation too-or was the spped camera wrong for all the black people? Oprah once stated in an interview that she was in a store and wanted to see a very expensive purse. The clerk told her that it was way too expensive and showed her other purses. Was it because Oprah was black? or wasit because the clerk felt the purse was overpriced? or was it because they thought not too many people could afford that purse (this took place in another country so the clerk did not know Oprah's net worth). Just as discrimination takes place every day against blacks, it takes place too against whites, Native Americans, Latino's, Asians, Italians, Jews, Gays, Women, Poor people and every one else. Blacks just seem to get a free pass to pull their card every single time. There is a problem with that for both the "victim" and the so called victimizer.

Hold on....OP is a victim for having to pay her ticket? For admittedly speeding? She is not a victim. There are true victims of racism who should be appalled by OP. Give me a break.

Not on DCUM. Still waiting for specific personal experiences, losing hope.

OP here-how about having 10 little black kids take turns kicking your legs on a school trip in 3rd grade calling you Honky and Cracker while doing so, a trip you so looked foward to but was ruined by them? how about being a professional adult working in a so called professioal institution and having your black adult co-worker heating up some grilled corn on the cob and then telling the black director that white people never eat grilled corn and proceeding to imitate a white person, in an Elmer Fudd type voice saying "what the hell is this duh...Iv'e never see corn made like this"-laughing along with the black co-workers and black director all the while the few white folks look on in incredulity, surprise and horror (of course any complaints about this and similar antics were ignored by the black run greivance/HR department-as were the sexual harrassment complaints made on a separate occasion about the Black director of that same instition). How about being innocently asked by a black teen if you have horns on your head cause you are white (I forgive the kid as they are just a kid-but who the hell taught them such a thing?) they truly believed that "all white people had horns cause they were the devil". How about when you are in a store and smile at a black person in passing-as you would smile at anyone-only to be given a dirty look and then ignored. How about drivng through a not so great neighbornood with your infant sleeping in the car and getting a beer bottle thrown at your car-almost striking the back of your car where your infant was sleeping? Had I not hit the gas hard and gunned it my car definitely would have been struck....(not sure if it was due to being a white driver-but like most blacks do, one can assume)-How bout being followed by a group of black teens who were calling names like "white bitch" and throwing things like bottles, rocks, etc.... where you felt so threatened you had to run into a nearby building (which thankfully had a security guard) to get away. How about being in the car when your white spouse gets pulled over by a BLACK cop for a simple tailight that went out, and rolling down your window to politely explain that you were unaware of that, only to be yelled at to "shut the fuck up" and "put that fuckin window back up" -which I immediately did instead of disrespectfully back talking to the officer as he likely would have shot at my white ass too if I did not comply. I can go on but I think I have made my point.

Yeah...you can not demand respect for YOUR problems but deny that anyone elses problems even exist.

Lemme ask you some'n...what exactly is it that makes you so sick of THEIR complaints? Is your life thrown askew and are you forced to make concessions in your personal life as a result of THEM wanting equal rights and equal treatment and equal opportunity? How are you personally affected that makes you so vehemently offended/irritated?

An example may be a manager having to deal with frivolous EEO complaints. It's a lot of work that in the majority of cases ends up being nothing. Not to say this throws anybody's life askew, but still: way too much BS to handle. I can see how this can become irritating.

or . . .

How about trying to EMT an AA teen with an academic history of insubordination, poor grades, and lack of self-control? and a recent history of fighting . . .

only to be told that "it's a cultural thing and you wouldn't understand"

happens all the time

And if I had a penny for each kid in that category who dropped out, I'd be richer than Bill Gates - who can go fuck his educational platform, btw.

OP got caught speeding and had to pay her ticket.

And tell me why other people didn't have to.

OP does not know the answer to that and neither do we. What we do know us that OP was admittedly speeding and git caught.

And maybe all the blacks who cry racism over things like being pulled over, or followed in a store don't know why either-maybe they are just paranoid or have a chip on their shoulder. White people get followed in stores and pulled over too!

That is not what happened to OP. Although tat happens a lot to Black people. No, she was ADMITTEDLY speeding and got caught.

Blacks got off the hook for being black-END of Story-just like they get away with alot of shit cause they are black in theis BS too "PC" society. Ever hear of Equal opportunity?

News flash: You are a racist.

If I am a racist, I still have done more to help the Black community than your sorry azz likely ever has!

I am the pp who thought I was being called a racist for the above reply RE:our too PC society-I am also the one who works hard to help the balck community. Did not relize the being racist accusattion was being directed at the other PP who can;t see past her own nose. I agree that s/he is racist.[/quote]

and I also believe that THEIR sorry ass likely does little to help their community-but loves to cry and complain all day long-they are just ignorant.

Blacks are NO longer slaves in the US-that ended many many many years ago.
Blacks can vote in the US.
Blacks have freedom of speech in the US.
Blacks are eligible for a free education in the US.
Blacks are eligible to sit anywhere they want on a public mode of transportation in the US.
Blacks are allowed to travel and move about freely in the US.
Blacks can choose to work in any profession they want in the US.
Blacks are eligible for a whole myriad of social services if they need/want them in the US.
Blacks are eligible to become a celebrity or sports star in the US.
Blacks are eligible to become President in the US and of the US.

Racism occurs against EVERY group living in the US-Blacks are just one of those groups. It is what you make of it. Shit AND get off the pot. The world (or at least the USA-is your oyster!)
