Test scores are at or below 50% and AP courses taken are at 8%. Clearly they are not high acheivers or doing very well. Poverty has an adverse effect on every race.
This really should go without saying!
Which is why the comment "poor minority populations bring down a school and there is no doubt that is a fact!" above is racist, or ignorant at best.
That's a true statement for MoCo. We are NOT in WV the last time I checked.

Anonymous wrote:Median family income in MOCO is 106,093. If you that and divide by 12 and multiple by 40% you get 3536 which amounts to a house with piti about 600k. You can buy in a decent house in WJ school district for that amount. Condos even start at 189k

One kid got a full scholarship to Harvard, many went on to college, while many others did drugs, while some others dropped out.
I posted this and forgot to say that I want better for my kid-Blair is good only due to the magnet-Whitman is good because of the student body, as is Sherwood and the other W schools. Political correctedness aside, poor minority populations bring down a school and there is no doubt that is a fact!
So, if they were all poor but white, they wouldn't bring down the school? So, the problem is "colored people"?

Either way, bye. If you're not happy, just leave. Or work to change things. Ranting here isn't doing shit for you or your precious, delicate baby.
Which is why I will ensure my precious kids never set foot in Northwood!

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:All of you who have written off entire groups of kids as worthless, disposable people who should be kept separate "in their own school" (makes my stomach turn just typing it) are a new low for DCUM.
I hope you aren't passing your nastiness onto your kids. Hopefully they'll be bigger people than you and actually give a shit about others.
OMG - are you serious??? No one said anything about these kids eing worthless and disposable. But, they don't belong in regular public school. They have issues and problems that you can't even imageine. They need a level of support that a public school can not provide. They are disruptive to other kids. They fight, they act-up, they have no respect for anyone or anything. I know it is hard for many people to believe that this type of environment exists in affluent MCPS so I invite you and your child to come spend the day at our school. I guarantee that your stomach will turn for other reasons.
