No, I walk my dog daily and always put the poop bag in our own trashcan. I wouldn't like someone else throwing their dog's waste in my trashcan.

If it's bagged well, I agree.

I've had numerous homeowners tell me to put it in their can. "Who wants to carry that around?" one gentleman said to me.

The city owns the sidewalks and tree boxes also that that doesn't give you license to leave your dog's excrement there.

In any event, I paid for my own garbage can and I own it. The city picks up the garbage from it.
