OT slightly, but are the people saying they wish they were born handicapped or have a life-altering disability? Just curious.

I totally hate myself too, but guess I'm ok with life all in all.

This is mine too. It sometimes enrages me to think about it. Why that 1 sperm and that 1 egg had to make me. Pisses me off to no end. I wish my parents could have had a kid , just not me.

This is a huge reason why I just can't have kids. I would feel so awful making someone be alive, it's so awful.

When posters drag up 2 yr old threads and post like it was 2 minutes ago. Sigh.

This might be dismissed since I'm younger (29) but I feel the same way. I have lots of siblings and we have each other's backs, warts and all. I want to DC have something like that too.

I do have very few regrets but at age 37 and single w/ 1 child, my regret is not having another child. As I get older, I really wish my DS had a sibling. I am just starting to date now so I guess never say never, right?

There are several things I could regret if I let myself:

marrying the wrong person for me
choosing the wrong career
financial decisions I made
not being more patient with my children

But the only one of these I really regret in the last one. Wish I'd been more patient and calm when my kids were young.

The rest of the decisions have had as many upsides as downsides, and eventually I've either gotten where I wanted (e.g., changing careers) or made peace with my choices (marriage).

Those of us who say we have few regrets -- I think we just have very good defense mechanisms!

Regretting that I went. The job market for lawyers is terrible. (There was a firm in Boston offering less than minimum wage for new graduates this fall.) The working conditions suck. I am seriously burned out.
