You Gen X'ers and Millenials are funny. Do you really think it's possible to generalize about a group of adults ranging in current age from 51-almost 70 years? I was born in 1961 and certainly don't remember where I was when JFK was shot, nor do I worship at the alter of the Beatles. Boomers are not all the same, anymore than your cohorts are monolithic.

Grow up already. No generation is perfect, and none should be villified either. There are simply different challenges and advantages that shaped the Boomers -- no better or worse than those that will shape your generation. And eventually, every generation gets old, is blamed for the world's problems, and then dies. It will be the same for you all.

Boomer here: My parents, middle class, had a much higher standard of living than we do (1950s and 60s) Dad worked 9-5 with full benefits, retired with a large pension and put 4 kids thru college. House paid off at age 42. Mom never worked. Retired. That was the golden age of the middle class. Even people who are in their mid 60s now benefited from that. Now the upper and lower class have benefited, while the middle class life styles goes steadily down. The boomers did not cause it, but the whole country stood by and let the life style drift away. So the next time you step aside for a minority or recently arrived emigrant, its only your life style you are giving up.
