That would be more like the need to support serial ponzi schemes (state pensions and govt medical spending) which is an artificial need.

Mother nature (natives) OTOH sense dwindling resources and hold off on creating unrealistic offspring numbers when the economy can't support it.

Bureaucrats, politicians and govt ministries should take a lesson from it: stop promising super generous state benefits that succeeding generations can't possibly support!
