The people opposed to this probably aren't parents of schoolchildren anymore. They're mostly people who live across the street from the school and are worried about a decrease in property values. Since their kids are older, they don't need to worry about the poor state of the current building.
Babe, wise Wootton PTSA leadership? Are we talking about the same current PTSA? Those folks were so politically inept. They had no backbone and let Rockville politicians overrun them with tactics that didn’t work. Time for them to move on with their kids as they graduate.
But 100%, let us please move on towards transition planning and community building! Amen to that!

For this request alone, if true, every BOE member should tell him to pound sand and have three separate votes any way they see fit. First of all, Crown and Woodward proposal have almost nothing in common. Second, his regional model proposal is a half-baked shell of a proposal that will be massaged for years to come. What exactly are they voting for - that there will be six regions and what school goes to what region. Everything else, the substance, what programs, where, curriculums, entrance criteria, etc. is nowhere near set.

My student says most of the students are happy about the new building. It’s time to heal our community and find a way forward.
Another Wootton walker here. I agree. I was also around in the 80's for the Ritchie Park rezoning.

What do you mean, "how is that going to work?". You don't think people are going to hold off on getting ready for the transition just because someone filed a lawsuit, do you? That would be nonsensical.
