DD is grateful for choices but had her heart set on GDS. I also think it is the right place for her but counseling her that she’s lucky to have choices. In the unlikely event she’s pulled off GDS’s WL however we’d love to give some waiting kids her other spots.
Very interesting list. All progressive, diverse schools and then SR. What made her want to apply to SR? Seems like just the uniform piece alone is the opposite of every other school on her list.

Let them know. A child in my kid's class got off the waitlist last year. There might not be a lot of movement, but there will be some. We are there now and it's been great.

PP is the delusional Catholic Schools poster. She leaves out schools that are undeniably better like Holton, St. Alban’s, and Potomac and misplaces all the Catholics in the second tier. She is unserious. Madeira should be higher as well. It is laughable that NCS was placed with the Catholics. Take a look at the instas of all the schools.

They're all good schools, Brent.
In a metro area with plenty of strong public schools it feels crazy for folks to be parsing the difference between the expensive private schools. I'm sure they all have their pros and cons and some will be better fits than others but man - y'all won! anyone going to any of these schools is super fortunate!

Almost certain most of the SJC, Visi, Prep and Gonzaga families we know wouldn’t attend Sidwell or GDS even on a full ride.
Agree. The academic environment of Sidwell and GDS are fundamentally different than the Catholic schools mentioned and it's unlikely that the students at the latter would thrive in the higher pressure atmosphere.
