Surely your husband wants to be involved with getting your kids ready

No, this is/should be a special time with his brother

Because BIL is spending the night with his bride in the suite and she's kicking him out so she can get ready there. I say if they're so progressive they can all get ready together.

Which makes me wonder how earlier the bride is "kicking him out" so she can ready? It doesn't sound like the groom will be at the hotel until checkout and then hanging around op's house for a few hours. It sounds like he will leave the hotel around 9 and be there for 4-ish hours.

I wish op had said what time the wedding is.

You - not DH - should tell your BIL you won’t host him and his friends for a few hours on his wedding day.

OP is acting like she is the bride! How much getting ready does she need? Take a shower and get dressed before the groomsmen arrive, with comfy shoes. Most likely the kids would have had their baths the night before. Keep them out of their wedding clothes until time to go. They are old enough to get mainly dressed by themselves.

It’s not an adult only formal event.

Don't any of the groomsmen have a hotel room? If not, they must be local, right?

What about the other groomsmen's hotel rooms? Pick one of those. They don't need a suite.

I guess you don’t actually adore your BIL.

I'm confused how 2 kids bedrooms, a bathroom, and the rest of the 1500 sq foot house besides the master suite which can be off limits is too small, but they should use a single hotel room and bathroom instead.

Are they doing a sleepover of the bride, groom, and all groomsmen?

Have these guys thought through hanging out in your house with your kids before hand?

Apparently according to several posters it's because op is a control freak.
