Meh. I feel like back then (Iraq, etc) people were critical of USA policies but not Americans. This is a whole different ballgame. And the only people who don’t think so are MAGA. Trump is going after allies. He is basically giving the middle finger to NATO. It’s so not the same. I think for now most people pity Americans but that might change once consequences of this new world order emerge in other countries.
One issue now is that Trump is both infuriating and energizing rightwing nuts in Europe, instead of pulling them on to Team America.
I think another issue is that Trump is simply openly corrupt. I’m a liberal person who thought Dubya was wrong and protested against him, but I never thought he was intentionally corrupt.
Trump is intentionally, flagrantly corrupt, and I think most centrist and center right Europeans are horrified by that.
The political atmosphere itself might not actually be a big deal. But, if outrage with the U.S. hurts the 90-day visa waiver program or messes with our ability to use Visa cards, that could be really annoying.
I think the political atmosphere could be a huge deal. I’ve been looking into travel for the summer to Scandinavia or the UK. But now I’m questioning whether Americans will be welcome. The political environment can change quickly. Despite all the flight sales going on I’m wondering if it makes sense to wait to see what happens. How is this even happening?
I'm doing a Scandinavian and England/Germany cruise this summer with my daughter as a graduation celebration trip. But I have low level anxiety. I loathe Trump and the weak lily-livered Rs, but will we be assumed as in the same basket as them? Should we wear a Canadian maple leaf shirt and keep our heads down?

Might have an effect on overseas travel. I still think as Americans, for now at least, we will be able to travel, but with today’s climate and signs that Trump might double down on stupid, it might be best to stay home.
Go at your own risk.
Trump will close boarders around election time to keep people from voting. Yes he will.
I wonder if you guys remember all of the predictions you made during the first administration... hint, they didn't come true.
At this point, the current reality is a lot worse than what I was predicting. I thought Trump Term 2 would be like Trump Term 1. Nope.
Maybe international travel would be possible for Americans after a Greenland invasion, but I wouldn’t count on it being easy.

I'd think it's fine. Africa has so far been out of all the madness, probably because he can't find it on a map.
