Those people on the boat were given no trial, no due process, no way to prove they werent smuggling drugs based on the accusation by the Defense department, and even if which would not entail a death sentence in a court of a law.
I used to think we were the good guys.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, following the first striking of a boat in the Caribbean in September, issued a verbal directive to U.S. service members to "kill them all" with a second strike that would leave no survivors, according to a new report from the Washington Post. The secretary strongly refutes such claims.

Oh listen….. that’s the sound of an admiral getting thrown under the bus by Kegsbreath.
I don’t feel bad for the Admiral at all. People talk like he is some innocent victim but he has a massive amount of military experience and knew better than to follow an illegal order. He, and every person in the chain of command, deserves whatever punishment is coming their way.
Oh I don’t feel bad for the admiral at all. He’s a criminal for following illegal orders. However, bigger picture…by Kegsbreath doing this, he just lost the respect of the top brass in the military.

I do. He was in a no win situation. If he didn't follow the order, Hegseth would retaliate. He hoped that if he did, they wouldn't throw him under the bus. Oh well. He picked wrong.
No. He took an oath. He had a professional responsibility and literal laws to follow.
He should have refused and resigned. That is what you do. You do not violate your oath, your ethics, or the law.
He never should have made Admiral. Poor judgment. No ethics.

Will Trump apologize to the Japanese for unjustly prosecuting their soldiers and airmen?
The US has historically covered up or otherwise avoided acknowledgement of its own crimes during war. A quick Wikipedia glance turned up a massacre of South Korean refugees I'd never herd of , but there were prosecutions and convictions (and Trump pardons later). But the fact that we've hidden these events at least shows we recognized them as crimes.

Well, it's not everyday that the President/Secretary of Defense give murder/war crime orders.
At least there is a bipartisan investigation.

Ha! There will be no trial. White America stands quiet and complicit while these madmen carry out their fantasies. Can’t you understand that. We will all sit back quietly and watch history repeat itself because this mess cannot be stopped apparently.
Anonymous wrote:The memo concludes that the U.S. is in a non-international armed conflict with the cartels, and that the strikes are being conducted in line with the laws of war. The head of the OLC also told lawmakers the administration wasn't going to seek an extension of war powers because the administration has determined they don't apply, since the American personnel conducting the strikes aren't in danger.
This is from an NPR article from Nov 17 https://www.npr.org/2025/11/17/g-s1-97836/venezuela-evidence-doj-strikes-sinking-suspected-drug-boats-assertations
So. . . . we are following the laws of war but we don't have to have congressional permission because this doesn't involve war powers because military personnel aren't being targeting (and I guess there can't be war crimes since it is not a war). . ..
This is some real through the looking glass shit, it doesn't even make enough sense to be wrong (except that people are getting killed).
