OP, I think you should do the second one here with the shoulders covered. It's modest but sexy, elegant but trendy, and I think it would look good on an hourglass figure with scrappy sandals and perfect hair/makeup.
Why is everyone trying to dress OP “modest”?????
Because this forum is filled with 50 year old women who weren't fashionable when they were 30, and mostly just troll the Beauty and Fashion Forum to, ironically, tell every poster that you shouldn't try to dress fashionably or flatteringly, but instead should aspire to not care about fashion at all. Mostly, they seem to think that wanting to look nice is a vice.
I've spent a lot of time on the dcum fashion forum over many many years, not because i've ever gotten any fashion advice, but because these nutty frumps are just as entertaining as the Relationships forum.

It’s gorgeous and classy. Grow up.

Holy cow I just remembered I made this and popped in to see if there were any responses. Was not expecting this 14 page rollercoaster.

Beautiful and so classy.

And it’s going to completely contradict your intended purpose of showing XH that you don’t think about him any more.
Whatever you get, get it scrupulously tailored. If it’s at all tight or plunge-y or short, think twice. Or at least wear a jacket or shawl in the church.
Here's the answer from page one of the thread.

She said nothing about him noticing her. I'm sure most people don't need help noticing their ex-spouse. She simply wants to look good in front of him.
This thread is so lame. You guys are either b itching about OP wanting to show up an ex or b itching about the dresses recommended while recommending dresses that look like medieval burial gowns. Meanwhile OP is nowhere to be found.
"Medieval burial gowns" is sending me lmfao
Same. I cackled

the second option (velvet burnout) would look knockout on an hourglass figure

Damn. That is a gorgeous dress! This is the exactly the situation to use Rent the Runway or Nuuly to get a dress you could never afford (and at least 2 back ups). Use the filters to get the right season, colors and silhouettes and find something really special! And as other people said, if you are genuinely smiling, laughing, dancing and having a great time (don't over do it!)--your ex will notice that more than a dress! Good luck OP!
