Then they admitted most of the other applicants who were still interested when it was all said and done and the waitlist was done moving. But those kids (including mine) had to wait.
Most of the kids postponed got admitted? Wow! Feeder school?

We'll have to wait and see how many students apply ED, but it should be a pretty big number. This will also help Michigan's yield rate get above that magic 50% number.
Auto-admit at the 50% for scores? No way. The OOS ED admits are going to be the 1540+ and 35+ kids. They are deferring test optional and those without sky high scores. Just wait.
….and there will be plenty of those top scorers. The only reason they were deferred in the past is because of the high percentage of top scorers who used Michigan as a back up. Top scorers who apply to Michigan ED, assuming they write decent essays, will be the auto admit. [/quote
]. Please let this be true! I didn’t think Michigan was looking for the super high scores. I know. Vanderbilt wants them, but Michigan? I have a really high scorer, but I thought they are looking for top leadership- student body president, editor-in-chief, sports captain.
I’m sure they are looking for those other items as well, but top scholarship is the single most important criterion in admissions. I cannot see Michigan turning down any top applicant who is applying ED, unless their essays are substandard. The main
reason for beginning the program is to capture those top students who would go elsewhere.

Ha! DC with 1580 SAT was not an auto-admit during EA rounds.
Did they eventually get in? Applied EA with same score.
Yes - DC got in RD, doing Engineering/CS. Loving it and thriving. Deans List student. Having a blast.

Ask your college counseling office to do some digging into this.
My DC attends a private school. From chatter, DC knows of 5 Michigan EDs: 2 engineering, 2 LSA and 1 Ross. Not sure if this is all as some kids keep this information secret.
Sounds like Michigan is becoming the new USC
Very few kids apply to USC from the DMV. What are you talking about?
