It is not compatible with FCPS gender-policies.
You do know that FCPS does not have to follow the Saudi sex segregation plan?
2 auditorium would be awesome for a high school! So would 2 cafeteria and 2 gyms.

Of course. They always are. Start with the FCPS website for this type of basic question. The info is all there.
I watch frequently on YouTube, but didn’t see a link yet, which is why I asked.
And I don’t think they’ve historically been streamed.
Sheesh, way to double down, Yes, they have been streamed live on their website and YouTube and broadcast on channel 99 and recorded for on demand. You don’t need a separate link for each meeting. https://www.fcps.edu/about-fcps/leadership/school-board/school-board-meetings

They are in a pickle because they clearly don’t want their kids to attend Westfield but others can see through their arguments and don’t want their kids moved there, either. They ought to convince Reid and Baenig to change the administration there if they think it’s so bad.
If you are so sure of this, why don't you run the numbers for us? And, while you are about it, you might check out the demographics of the schools going to Westfield from that area. Remember, that is McNair and Coates and only a part of Floris.
Also, check out the amount of new construction in the area. It is substantial.
Here is the answer for you: the FARMS rate among the three Westfield feeders considered for KAA is higher than the Westfield average. So, is the English learner.
And, there is LOTS of new construction between Westfield and 28--very close to Westfield. Also, quite a bit near Wegman's. And, Westfield is large enough to still be over 2000 without it. And, likely a lot more.
I know nothing about the administration at Westfield. That really has nothing to do with the issue of distance from the school and the rest of the Westfield neighborhoods. But, five miles away is pretty significant from the rest of the neighborhoods.

I mean maybe tech has already split the world into a large class of billionaires (vs just the few, previously) and the nots. For the rest of us, AI will eradicate the UMC professional class, and the way to earn a living will be through learning a trade…like being an airplane mechanic. Our value will be in our bodies for the labor, just as it has been for the lower classes for ages.

Provides academics plus an opportunity for well paying vocational track. It will help reduce overcrowding because the schools won’t be limited to aviation.
They first need to decide what the base school boundaries will be. Sounds to me l8ke they 0lan for it to be tiny.
I fall into the group that thinks that they are going to limit it to McNair, Coates, and Oak Hill and that they are doing this to prevent too many kids being moved from South Lakes to the new school. This keeps the Floris kids at South Lakes at South Lakes and the Fox Mill kids at South Lakes. Crossfield parents seem to be fine with their kids attending Oakton and are less willing to move to the new school.
Herndon HS and South lakes HS have enough FARMs kids that I am sure the argument will be that a vocational program would be used by kids from those schools, which are close by, and hence it is worthwhile. It might even siphon off some of the FARMs kids. I am not sold that FARMs kids parents are involved enough to be aware of academies and the like that this is going to be useful for anyone. And if that is the population they are trying to hit, there is enough space at Herndon HS, which is not that far from Dulles to put the program there.
Every parent that I've spoken to in my neighborhood, both with elementary, middle, and hs aged students at Oakton, would love for their kid to attend the new school instead of Oakton, myself included. We are in a Crossfield neighborhood.
Same. This was a big topic amongst parents at Carson 7th BTSN last night. Our kids would be the first ones at this new school if we're zoned there.
We just spent $80 million to renovate and expand Oakton. Someone needs to go there or we’ve just wasted money.

If they don’t move Coates to KAA they are creating a rich-kid school in a fancy building (bad optics), and McNair likely moves with Coate
It's not fake. There are 5 miles between the Westfield High and the closest kids that go to Carson.
Suggest you look at a map and tell me which other students are closer. Maybe those by Wegmans--which are at least 4 miles. That means they are isolated from the school community friends.
FCPS has a specific definition for an “attendance island” and this ain’t it.
I don't care. If it looks like a duck, talks like a duck, and acts like a duck.......
And, some of those buses may pass through Chantilly or South Lakes neighborhoods to get there if they don't use 28.
