I love being a stay at home mom. I haven't worked a day in my life and I graduated a top VA college.

DMV makes sense for a radio broadcaster talking to their broad audience. Why would anyone use it in real life though?

My kid will probably go to a college that is not T25, or T50, or even T100.

I don’t drive a SUV with a school logo/crab /HRW/OBX sticker, enjoy local vacations, I like keeping my cars as long as possible.

It would be a sin to sneer at calling it the DMV.

You must be a transplant.

4th generation from DC and I don’t call it the DMV and get annoyed at those who do.

+1000

No greater sign of someone being a transplant than calling the region "DMV."

How do you explain all of the people who aren’t transplants that have used it for decades?

I’ve never heard a non transplant use that term unless it’s someone under the age of 25.

Way to tell on yourself that you have zero black friends.
It's even used as a slogan for most of the black radio stations. 93.9 WKYS - "The Most Hip Hop and R&B In The DMV". Majic 102.3 - "The Real Sound of the DMV". WPGC 95.5 - "The DNA of the DMV"

WTF are you talking? "DMV "surfaced in the last 5 years. Before that, it was where you registered your car. Dc id DC. I'm born and bred Fairfax and no local would ever use that term. Unless they were black.

PP is a Northerner, so caught up in the myths of the Confederacy’s past that they can’t see Southern states in a modern context. As a NOVA resident, please, stay the hell out of our state!

There is no Confederacy anymore you living breathing piece of feces

I guess one of mine is I've never been to the Delaware beaches and have only been to OBX once, in college. My family is all in the NE so we go to the Hamptons, Cape Cod, or Maine in the summer.

delaware beaches are a good vibe. OBX is absolute trash, with vile people.

Uhm. I'm black and my kids are the 4th gen to be born in DC. I never heard that phrase until DCUM.

Huh. You don't listen to 95.5?
Or 93.9 or 102.3?

I had four kids before age 25.
I'm still married to their dad, 38 years later.
They are all successful adults.
I thought I would never see the end of getting up in the middle of the night but here we are, age 59, up again. This time, peeing a lot.

Pretty sure about half the people around here do too, that's not really a DMV/DCUM sin.
