They regularly come up with new legislation, needed or not, to keep their name in the news and keep themselves relevant for the next office they seek.

What kind of idiot buys a house with a bunch of trees and then cuts them all down? Cutting a tree is far more costly than raking leaves twice a year.

I noticed the lawn people cutting next door didn't blow off the clippings in the driveway or the street. I asked them why and they said the battery is dead on the blower.

Montgomery County has a class for landscapers to transition from gas powered equipment to battery powered equipment. This means mowers, chain saws and weed trimmers. They want all lawn equipment battery powered. I guess the next thing is their trucks has to be battery powered.
No tree company is doing away with their chain saws or chippers.

Reporting a complaint to the county the person has to be willing to go to court to testify. That will be interesting. There maybe repercussions afterwards.

I will assume his garage is now a Superfund site.

We have to store gas for the zero turn mower, weed trimmer, edger, snow blower, chain saw, power washer, and generator. So what's the big problem storing gas.

We just did the same thing. Removed every tree and the people behind us are pissed off. They had to go out and buy shades or blinds for all their windows because they lost the privacy. But we got the savings from no more leaf cleanups.

The cost to take down mature trees is far more than taking leaves twice a year. Anyways you don’t even have to take. Mow over top of it and let it compost over the winter to have a healthier lawn in the spring.

Mowing over leaves only works if the tree is small and there is one or two trees eight or ten feet high. But if you have twenty three oak trees eighty feet high like us and mulch over the leaves which we tried it leaves ground up leaves a foot deep. Next season you have leaf dirt and no grass. Just bare spots with leaf dirt everywhere. A complete mess that needs to be cleanup and grass seed put down.

These battery blowers are a joke to use. The battery last no more than 15 minutes. I have to walk all the way back to the garage to get another battery every 15 minutes. Then after all three batteries are dead I put them on a charge and wait four or more hours to charge them. What a waste of time. A wasted day.

I'm returning everything and getting my money back. I'll go back to using a gas blower.

But then you have to buy, store and handle gasoline? How is that more convenient?

DP

I buy gasoline a couple times a week usually. I’m pretty familiar with the procedure.

A gallon of no-ethanol 90 octane costs $5. 2-stroke oil is another $3. For $8, I can blow leaves all season in my smallish yard.

You make it sound like keeping a one gallon gas can in the backyard shed is like storing spent nuclear fuel assemblies.
