So why even mess with Wootton families and force them to move out to QO and crown? There are only losers and the ones being moved out are the relatively poorer ones. Financial hit on them will be devastating. What’s even worse is that their kids will have to be separated from their friends. This kind of double whammy is too much.

Options 1 and 3 contain the most of what you are talking about. Lots of walkers to other schools bussed to Crown.

Option 1 is a No-Go. It still leaves HS over allocated and creates many more MS split articulations.

Is Cold Spring ES still undercrowded? Why not move Horizon Hill to Cold Spring, Frost and Wootton since they are all walkable to that neighborhood? I don’t get why that isn’t an option. RM is over crowded and Wootton is under capacity.

I highly doubt they will move Lakelands to another school since it is a walk zone to QO. They usually prioritize walkers in these situations.

Are you familiar with the Horizon Hills neighborhood adjacent the Wootton and Frost?

Exactly. Look at that bump out right next to the school. The houses right behind the football field are bussed to RM.

I have no idea why they won’t clean up the extra little areas like that in all school zones. There is one for WC too.

Yes Wootton already the most Asian school becomes more so in all scenarios. WTF makes no sense. I have a ton of Asian friends so nothing wrong with it at all, but why further perpetuate the stereotype of Wootton and increase the nicknames for it.

Everyone at Churchill proposed to move to Wootton (literally one small ES Wayside) doesn’t want to be moved to Wootton. Everyone it seems at Wootton doesn’t want to be moved out of Wootton.
So MCPS leave these schools alone. Crown is going to experience a good amount of growth and will be overcrowded again.

Don’t piss off people to save $40k in portable costs at Churchill.

Last I checked there have been zero issues due to crowding at either school despite what capacity numbers might show.

Fix Wootton (and Magruder while at it) as well before starting to move kids to Wootton.

Dufief is very logical to move somewhere since close to both QO and Crown.

I thought wooton was overcrowded.
