Leeks with mustard vinaigrette will be in my last meal. I don’t even like mustard much, or leeks.

Bone marrow is amazing with salt on a cracker.

Whoever doesn’t like fruit doesn’t know how to pick or find fresh fruit. Canned and mushy supermarket fruit is gross, but so are canned peas. Not the point.

Olive Garden serves the best Italian food.

No other bean burrito beat the taste of Taco Bell Bean Burrito with extra onions & fire sauce.

The purpose of strong spices is to hide or give flavor to low-quality food. And the taste of very fresh vegetables and quality, very fresh meat that has been handled properly and kept cold until being cooked doesn't need to be disguised in strong spices to taste good. No spice can match that very fresh taste.

I lived in South Asia for two years, where most food is super spicy and also low-quality or not handled properly during preparation and prior to cooking, and this is where I had this realization (during one of my many nights sick in front of or on the toilet again: Delhi Bellly is real).

Your pie already has vanilla in it. You need more vanilla?

Well, Wasabi mayo is out of this world good, on everything

You should try Roy Rogers horseradish sauce.

There was once a pumpkin ice cream--not pumpkin pie, just pumpkin, with just a hint of the spices--that had come out in the stores where I shop for one Halloween to Christmas season. It was so, so good, but have never seen again. Don't recall the brand.

Add butter pecan to your list.

My MD once told me that Mayo is just spreadable cholesterol. A heart attack spread on a sandwich.

I agree that those are all overdone. don't even get me started at all the options that have chocolate AND PB. 🤮. Strawberry, fresh peach, black raspberry are the best. I'm sure we'd get even more choices if stores offered them to us and didn't fill the shelves with the lowest common denominator.

Agreed. I couldn’t eat veal after I learned how mean it is to the calf.

Black licorice is delicious.

Agree on the veal. But black licorice is vile!

There's a specialty dairy where I live (not in DC) which makes unusual ice cream flavors--chokecherry, Juneberry, and black licorice. The black licorice is sooo addictive.

In my family we put coffee ice cream on pies. Vanilla is too boring but chocolate may be a step too far…

Mmmmm. Salt, oil, and lard. My only weakness.
