If these people had money to buy US farms clearly rhey would not be refugees, they would have bought them and moved to the US with visas. Or do you think they are going to work on American farms like laborers? Do you seriously think a midwestern or Californian american farmers are going to pick a white Boer “refugee” to work in their farms in the place of hardworking Mexicans or Central American workers??

That's just it. Were they literally tossed off their own farmland in the middle of the night with all they could fit into a single suitcase, their family farmland ripped out from under them by the government? If that’s the case, Trump is doing a fantastic job. I can’t believe the left are allowing themselves to look like racists by making fun of the photos of the refugees, suggesting they deserve persecution because of apartheid, collectively blaming them for their original arrival on the shores of an uninhabited South Africa int the 1650s, and having churches pulling out of refugee programs out of blatant racism and political grandstanding. It’s a complete gift to the right.

I’m the PP whose post you responded to? I literally have no idea what you’re talking about. No one’s talking about the 1600s that I’ve seen anywhere. What I’ve read, including in the Wall Street Journal, is that this is a solution in search of a problem. There is no “genocide” of Afrikaner farmers like Trump mentioned— just a high rate of murders and Home invasions which is common and South Africa and affects more blacks than whites. The WSJ article on this topic is long and explains the context really well, but it’s behind a pay wall. I will try to summarize it in another post.

Because they’ve been led to believe that white nationalist beliefs will be valued by the current government. Do you really think that most of them plan to be farmers? I’d actually be curious to know how many of them actually worked as farmers in SA.

I’m sure the majority of the new arrivals are the lower class whites that had very few opportunities for advancement in SA.

Why haven't they been trying to flee for years and apply for asylum in not only the US, but also the UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Australia, NZ? If it's so bad, they should be doing all they can to get out. Many of our illiterate, impoverished ancestors did just that in the early 1900s. I'm guessing this "genocide" did not start as soon as Trump called it a genocide?
