I think there’s a serious lack of respect and loyalty amongst the staff for each other and it’s pouring over onto the field and their players. Nothing worse than a club with a bad culture that starts at the top and has no where to go but trickle down. This won’t bode well for the future of NVA, at least not on the girls side. It’s really unfortunate too bc there’s a ton of talent at NVA if the coaches could just get their heads out of the cloud and work together they could do some good things over there.

Lots of teams have injuries, but NVA's 09s seem to be going through some things right now. They really haven't been the same since about the time NS left (not saying NS was the reason they were good, just saying). They dominated VDA at Jeff Cup last year, but ended up losing the bracket to that same VDA team on points. Then struggled in Texas and crashed out of the Seattle. Something is definitely off, the roster doesn't look like there was much turnover from last year and they weren't necessarily a "kickball/big kids" type team from what I saw last year.
But then, 4-1-1, with one bad weekend isn't really that bad a place to be. Still half a season and MidAtlantic Cup to go (not including showcases, etc.).
NVA 09 always “crashes out” in the playoffs. That’s not a PL problem. NS was in Texas so what’s the excuse there? Stop blaming coaches for everything.
Why?
NS > PL Doesn't mean NS was going to take that team and suddenly start being the best of Cali and TX. Those teams are just better. But the team is certainly worse off with PL.
How come NVA 09 can’t get out of the group at playoffs but other virginia teams can?
Because VDA 09 > NVA
And PL is not a good coach.
Why?
Doesn't understand offense in soccer. Too predictable. Repetitive practices. Stifles creativity on the field. Plays politics/favorites. Refuses to adapt in game situations. Doesn't get the most out of his players. Stubborn.
Because they win and keep 85% of the team happy. What else do you want? Who cares if they lose at Regionals or Nationals? Did your club qualify for either?
They seem to be one of the few ECNL teams that only roster 18-20 players, and they somehow compete with the other NOVA teams carrying 23-27+ players....NVA is not such a bad deal if you can make the team.
I believe most of the hate comes from parents of kids that did not make the team
At nva
Any insiders know why lazy and subpar folks like Roberto and Phil still get to collect checks for virtually no ROI?
TIA!

And not only are the coaches grade A boot lickers but so are the parents as evidence from these two comments.
Who cut ur kid? Was it PL or RP?
Did u agree w it or do u feel its political?
What age etc?!
Its ok you can always try out again. Seriously kids come bk all the time.

However, outside of dcum, you can actually witness that indeed dmv really has no above average clubs. None of the teams in this area can compete with clubs from around the country. Kindly waiting for your rebuttal.

It's funny how some parents will go down with the LS ship just because they've been told they were the best. Posters above who said it's a kick and run game are partially right. They try to make the transition and even have had some success, but they are a far off from clubs like Arlington and union.
Are Arlington and Union the standard that DMV clubs are trying to reach?

This is the entirety of NVA, top to bottom.
So ur sayin that essentially the current NVA coaches are grade A boot lickers with no spine or dignity?
