How would anybody know that?

My daughter is a current hys player and got an offer after the first tryout session.

HYS on the girls side usually is drama-free among players and parents. No super stars, no major egos either. If you daughter wants to make friends, stay fit, have some challenges, hys is a good fit. If you think she is D1 material, move on.
Now, there is drama with coaches, board members, etc…. as in most clubs in the area.

Tell us more! My boys play HYS and I never hear any good juicy gossip.

As someone who has coached for the past 10 years in the DMV area. Kids can wear whatever they want. Our coaches know where these kids are coming from and that they're trying out at multiple locations.
Many families spend a lot of money on equipment from their current team so wearing it to a tryout is not a big deal.
These are children and families looking for a new club to better their kid's development, because a child is going from one club to another doesn't mean anything

Agree.
Backpacks from other clubs is normal and fine bc most kidd only have one backpack.

Jerseys from other clubs would be a strange choice.

Some clubs specifically tell you no current or former teams jerseys, prospective players should wear all white/black/whatever color tops.

My kid is on the black team and his coach doesn't send out offers until the end of tryout 2. Afaik lol.

That makes me feel better. Hoping for an offer for black team. Got an offer for black in the past that did not accept, and it came after second tryout.

As for wearing a jersey from another club, agree that is weird. We don’t have our kids bring their team bags in to other tryouts. Coaches often ask where they currently play anyway, but not always before they start evaluating.

Disagree, its just odd to show up for say a Herndon tryout wearing a Valor game jersey.

No one cares what you wear...as long as your kid can play.
Coaches get a list with the kid's name and their current team/club.
You came to tryout and everyone knows you're coming from another club

No. That would be a really weird thing to do

Wondered when folks said entire teams from other clubs showed up to Herndon tryouts.

The kids usually have their team backpacks. I mostly saw Valor at ours (younger boys).

You are there so your kid can show he really wants to be a part of X club. Why would you think it was a good idea to wear a shirt from their competition down the street?
