They have to compete with millions upon millions of lower cost illegal migrants flooding across the borders. They have been penalized by the color of their skin when applying to college and jobs. Suicide, depression, opioids, wars they have to fight and die in...it has gotten quite bad.

Are white really getting selected over "illegal" migrants on farm work, or are they just not applying? I mean job rate are high right now, no?

But OP, I get it and I agree with you generally. What is particularly disgusting to me is the gaslighting we get from the Democrats. It’s as if they think people are stupid.

No, crime isn’t down. We all live it. Just because you instruct police not to report crimes doesn’t mean it’s down in reality. I know more people who have experienced crime in the past four years than the previous twenty combined.

No, immigration isn’t a non-issue. We can all see the sharp increase in homelessness under Biden over the past four years. My previously safe neighborhood now has serious problems with homelessness. And these are folks who are out of their minds on drugs, victimized by a raging drug trafficking organization.

No, I’m not going to pretend that sex-based differences do not exist and that hard fought safe spaces that women have literally died to earn should be sacrificed to appease the religious beliefs of natal males. Female bodies have been literally killed — are still disproportionately killed — and yet you want to pretend all of that history has disappeared because some privileged males want to destroy sex-based rights? GTFO.

Stop the gaslighting, Democrats. It’s ridiculous.

Typical low IQ MAGA take.

Typical dim gaslighting from progressives with no ability to substantively address issues.

You are why Trump will win.

Shut it. You’re not fighting “progressives.” You’re fighting party-line Democrats who themselves hate the progressive wing of the party.

It doesn’t matter. The refusal to deal with what people across the country are experiencing and living (and instead gaslighting them) is going to cost Democrats the election.

Democrats depend on voter turnout to win. That happens when people feel heard and feel like their reality is at least seen. The Democrats aren’t doing that now and instead going all out with gaslighting. It’s a failing strategy.

What is Trump doing to deal with what I am experiencing and living? All I hear from him are petty insults and complaining about how the world is unfair to him.

He is doing literally nothing. He will not accomplish anything, consistent with his prior administration.

But what he isn’t doing is telling people to pretend that their reality isn’t what they are experiencing. He isn’t telling people that crime is down (when people experience a sharp uptick in crime), he isn’t telling them that inflation is down when everybody can compare grocery costs, he isn’t telling people that their daughters should shut up and be happy with lose to biological boys, he isn’t telling people that unconditional support for Israel is bringing peace to the Middle East, he isn’t telling people that just a few more billion dollars will stop the war in Ukraine.

He’s got dementia, he is incompetent, he is a malignant narcissist, and genuinely a terrible person. But he is not asking people to ignore their own lived experiences and reality. And that is why he is resonating.

I agree with some of what you are saying...but crime is down in most places (but sadly not DC) and inflation is down (I just bought 18 eggs for $1.99 when we all remember they were $6 for a dozen at the peak; gas is now under $3/gallon in many places; airfares were definitely cheaper this past holiday season compared to prior two years). Trump also offers unconditional support for Israel, but I don't hear much foreign policy.

Look, I don’t know what to tell you. I am a Democrat who predicted that Trump would win in spring of 2016 because I saw that he was emotionally resonating with people who felt gaslit and unheard by the Democrats. I posted as much in DCUM and was mocked for it back then. Now I see the Democrats making the same mistake here, telling people that they aren’t experiencing what they clearly are experiencing. Trump is an awful, terrible person who is a direct threat to democracy and yet at this point I think he is going to win, unless his dementia becomes too much to hide. It’s extremely depressing.

I agree and it is depressing.

His support has shrunk continually since he was inaugurated in 2017. He’s going to get smoked in the general election. He’s the most hated person in U.S. history. By far.

This is what PPs are pointing out - don’t tell us the reality we’re living is not real.

Which colleges are predominantly "illegal" migrants? Even UT Austin is majority white.

and it would be so EASY for Democrats to win elections but instead of helping the deplorables Democrats focus on expanding immigration.

You can’t reason with people who are delusionally angry. Everyone has been interviewing Trump supporters for 8 years. They are paranoid and idiotic. Most of what they believe is not only false but contradicting other things they believe. We don’t need their votes. The Republicans are destroying their party pandering to delusional anger.

Owning the libs doesn't actually do anything for struggling whites, but they like the feeling. Like Trump says, "suckers and losers."

This true, Trump actually do little for the MAGA peoples.

But they love mr. Trump because he only politican to address the MAGA peoples. Everyone else do not want the white wokers vote.

There are plenty of white workers who are not angry delusional bigots. Trump’s supporters are not sympathetic victims. Trump intentionally targets their prejudice and paranoia. He’s a sociopath.

Maybe, but MAGA base skew white, lower education level and income.

Who they advocate? No national politican, because advoating for them is racism.

That's what we call political alienation, folks. When they became too deplorable for any politician to want their vote, along comes DJT to scoop up the disaffected.

I don’t get it. It’s just a circle jerk at this point. It’s not a goddamned betrayal of Democratic principles to say, yes border and migrant issues might impact how socioeconomically disadvantaged folks might find their schools compromised. It’s not a betrayal to object to the current support of this infernal war in Israel and to say, hey? Hello? Young voters and Muslim Americans just might not be eager to support the ticket if they literally cannot be heard in their protests. This is all crazy. It is willful and dumb. Obviously Biden can make a positive case based on slow infrastructure improvements and generally, the economy. What I am saying is, talk about the war and the border NOW. Figure it out. This smug and nitwit durrrrr he’s not fat and orange crap won’t necessarily work this time, so work on an ACTUAL campaign. I can’t begin to respect the scores of dipshits here who proudly type that Biden is perfect because he’s not Trump. Grow up.

You are an excellent example of why the Democrats are going to lose, because you have entirely missed the point. Everything you list above, every single item, is in the realm of rhetoric not reality. Trump’s voters don’t believe Trump handled COVID well. They don’t believe he has a great economic plan. They don’t believe all the ridiculous and frankly obviously dementia-driven nonsense that he says. You think his voters actually believe him? My goodness. You have the luxury of parsing out the nonsense that Trump spews and being offended by it because you aren’t particularly impacted by inflation, crime, job losses, potential military action in the Middle East, etc. You can look at Trump and object to his obvious dementia-driven ravings because you aren’t worried about day to day life.

Objecting to rhetoric is a luxury that Trump’s voters don’t think they have. And this is just such a cluelessness gap with the Democrats that they are going to sleepwalk into yet another loss to Trump. I find it unbelievable.

I see. My lived experience is just rhetoric. Some people count and I’m not one of them.

Why exactly should it count in this particular discussion? PP is trying to explain what animates, wait for it, probable Trump voters. There’s ten months til Election Day. When the F are some of you going to grow up?

No. Shit.

TF is wrong with you guys? So you have to assume people talking about the profiles of those who may support trump are…what? Asking you to love those misguided people? Are asking you to admire Trump? WTAF. No one is asking for that. We’re talking about recognizing the risk in not directly confronting certain pivotal issues, and in discounting the resentment Trump can mobilize in his favor, assuming a 2020 rematch in November.
