So it's okay to demonize fellow human beings by dredging up Nazi rhetoric, because they do not have their papers?
Four of his five children were borne by immigrants. Two out of his three wives were immigrants. His mother was an immigrant who came here as an uneducated house maid. His paternal grandfather was an immigrant. He has no relatives who had any involvement with the founding of this country. Most African Americans have more connection to the early days of the United States. Most arrived before 1830. It's absurd that he's going all blood and soil when it's not the Trump family's soil.

Send them back from where they came - Mexico. We are not obligated to take the people Mexico lets pass through.
let me guess. you're pro-life.
DP. I’m very much pro choice and actually donate money to Planned Parenthood. What does that have to do with anything. I too say why cannot Mexico absorb some of these migrants. Why are people flying into Mexico from China, Bangledash, Nigeria, Ukraine, Hungary, etcetera, etcetera and crossing the southern border hands up. Why not stay in Mexico if they are true asylum seekers.

Just imagine if someone had said that about your family when they showed up at the banks of the shores of the US from their ****hole country.

Uhhh, my mother DID show up here, from Germany, in 1962.
She had to be sponsored by a family already here. She had to have money in her pocket. She had to have medical checks. That's all BEFORE she came here.
She also went to England for a year and a half as an au pair to learn English. Until the early 1980's, she had to show up to the post office once a year and fill out a card on where she was living, with who, and other pertinent information.
It's was CONTROLLED immigration.
And how did the family that was already here get here? At some point, all of your ancestors were immigrants (other than native Americans), and some came here through "UNCONTROLLED" immigration (how nice for them), and some even lied their way to come here (go visit Ellis Island and read some of the testimonials).
US immigration policy has not been updated for 30 years. The numbers of visas and work permits allowed are pathetically small in relation to the need for workers here in the US. Many jobs go unfilled by Americans, but immigrants will gladly take those jobs. The US Congress needs to increase the numbers of immigrant workers allowed to enter the US legally each year to work here.

Again, people who are here illegally do not "get free sh!t" - they work for cash and stay in the shadows and do not put themselves "into the system"
No that’s how it used to be. Now they realize you can game the system. So many have kids born here so they are US citizens and get benefits for them. In some states they get free health care even if you are illegal.
And the current wave of immigrants are not illegal. The vast majority are applying for asylum so they don’t stay in the shadows because they don’t need to. They are clamoring fir resources and help. Look at New York City and Chicago.
Biden repealed Trumps public charge rules that he was enforcing. You aren’t supposed to be able to immigrate if you are going to be a public charge and cost the US money. The sponsor is supposed to pay.
Enacted in 2019, Trump’s public charge rule imposed stricter financial requirements on would-be immigrants to the U.S. The rule directed federal immigration authorities to decline green cards and visas to applicants who were likely to become reliant on public aid — and expanded the universe of immigrants who fell into that category.
The US is one of the very few countries that allows a citizen’s elderly poor parents to immigrate because it will end up costing the US so much money. Instead parents get priority over siblings who could add to the economy.
I wasn't referring to the kids. Please re-read what I wrote.
And if you are going to complain about chain migration, let's start with Melania's parents.
She came here illegally, used false information, snagged a husband, had an anchor baby and then chain migrated her parents.
Yet we don't hear people complaining about her.

Of course, this is all qualified by the ethnicity of the immigrants coming in. As long as they're coming from northern European countries it's okay, there's no blood poisoning involved. Anywhere else, the MAGA base is horrified by.

Then you must be blind if you are actually watching the border. As reported in the New York Times on November 24, 2023
https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/24/us/politics/china-migrants-us-border.html#:~:text=More%20than%2024%2C000%20came%20to,crossing%20the%20southern%20border%20illegally.:
"More than 24,000 Chinese citizens have been apprehended crossing into the United States from Mexico in the past year. That is more than in the preceding 10 years combined."
Also in the article it states there are 100,000 Chinese with final deportation orders, however, China won't take them back as the article states:
"In the past, American diplomats have tried to work with the Chinese government to persuade it to repatriate its citizens, and the response has tended to be the same.
“They would just plain refuse to acknowledge the person was Chinese,” said Michele Thoren Bond, a former assistant secretary of state who worked on these issues.
“It is not credible that a country that documents and monitors its citizens as closely as China does not have photos of every citizen,” Ms. Bond added.
So picture if 24,000 Chinese successfully make it to the United States just in this year through the Southern Border and can't be deported because China refuses to take them back, they get work visas in 6 months because they claim asylum, and they post like crazy on social media about their journey. How many will come next year?
they can stay in Mexico.Anonymous wrote:So what would you do with them? They are human beings.

Well, let’s watch a video where Trump and Orban meet, and see what they say in their own words and where they agree:

It sounds to me like they agree on keeping their countries safe, fighting terrorism, stopping illegal immigration, and protecting Christian communities.
I personally support all of these things. If you don’t, then fine, we disagree politically.
Just because Trump and Orban meet, it doesn’t mean they agree on everything or that Trump wants to be exactly like Orban. The left has a tendency to catastrophize when it comes to Trump.
(I.e. Protecting Christian communities does not mean Trump wants Christianity to become the state religion of the US. Don’t read into his words what’s not there.)
Then why not protect all communities? What is so special about Christian communities?
I believe that Trump wants all American citizens to be protected.
I have never heard him say this, but I suspect he also wants the US to remain a culturally Christian nation. Many Americans, even if they are not religious themselves, want the US to remain culturally Christian. They don’t want to live in a Muslim society or Hindu society or whatever. Rapid immigration irreversibly changes the culture.
I don't know anyone who believes the bolded. It is nonsense and it is a tyranny of the minority.
We don't want Sharia law either.
But if what Texas did to that poor woman is any indication, no thanks to that.

It makes you wonder if it's really about immigrants at all. They can't be so bad if his own family consists of immigrants. But then again, all of his focus is on the southern border.
European immigrants clearly aren't a problem then. Just brown ones.
I don’t think he hates immigrants. He just wants them to come here legally and in a controlled fashion.
Eight years of hate, vitriol, and blatant racism and there are still people out there who make apologies and grasp at straws. You have the observational powers of a rock if you can't see what has been in plain sight since day 1.
