Wow, this really brings back memories. Black skinny double belts with silver studs over a Wham "Choose Life" (ugh! what was I thinking?!?) T-shirt, fishnet gloves, scrunchie ponytail, loads of black plastic skinny bracelets. A mash up of 80s Madonna and Cyndi Lauper.

I loved Liz Claiborne clothes and shoes in the 80’s

Am I the only one who has always thought the high cut bathing suits look terrible? It looks like a front wedgie.

I mentioned my leather bomber upthread. I think I bought mine from Wilson’s - I might be getting the name wrong. It cost $220 and I was proud of myself for buying it with my high school summer job earnings (I made minimum wage - $3.35/hour).

I graduated from high school in 1986. The last year for uniformly hoopskirted prom dresses. I wore a full-length pale pink satin with polyester lace overlay princess/fantasy shepherdess-looking Gunne Sax dress. I had bought this $160 dress new off the clearance rack for $15 in perfect condition at a mall store in June the year before! I looked "Pretty in Pink" but in kind of a Queen Elizabeth 1 x Mother Goose kind of way.

Tea length was a daring and rare choice for prom then. But it didn't take very many years after that before prom went from hoopskirts to skimpy, tight fitting cocktail type dresses. Still think the giant full-skirted dresses were prettier. But they were less fun to spend an evening in.

There was just one girl at prom who had a relatively tight-fitting, glittery dress (electric blue mermaid-style sheath). It was said to have cost the shocking sum of $300 and to have come from a fashion boutique in a downtown skyscraper in my inland metropolis.

Anywhere to remember twist-a-beads? If my outfit was hot pink and gray I would carefully remove from the hank two hot pink bead strands and one gray, twist them together, and clip them around my neck. Then one year for the holidays I got ones that were made of real stone and not plastic. I felt incredibly sophisticated.

I had an orange denim jacket and matching denim skirt, and I thought it was the greatest thing every created. I'm not certain I wouldn't wear it today if I could find it.

I still have the tube top. I wore it as a belt over knit dresses for years. My teen has worn it as a top uhder thjgs like a vest or open knit sweater as well. It’s really comfortable!
I had a striped mini skirt from them that I loved. I think it could also be worn as a strapless top.
