You are creating an issue out of nothing. This is why people, especially the younger generations, are not voting for republicans and becoming less religious.
Target is not selling any Satanic-themed clothing in its stores, not to adults, and certainly not to children. The designer behind the merchandise is also not a "Satanist" and says the t-shirt was created to be campy and satirical-something the right-wing has shown they cannot understand.

Congratulations, you look like a damn fool.
Target has lost $9B in market cap since this issue broke.
Your problem is that you think people have to be religious ans hard right to think it's demented to dress babies as Satanic trans activists.
As long as the left continues to talk about people who cringe at or are repulsed by this kind of stuff like they are evangelicals, they will continue to alienate people. The evangelical hard right does not to $9B worth of damage. This is the mainstream who is like, hey I'm good with LGBTQ stuff but I draw the line at satanic trans babies.
Honestly, PP, this "satanic" stuff is so normie now that it's almost too basic. It's tongue in cheek. It's the tiniest bit salty. You sound like Church Lady - it's just crazy out of touch.
Ok, give us your explanation of the $9B loss in market cap. Go on.
All retailers are having a rough go of it. Walmart's market cap is down $20bn in the past six months, but sure, the market is uniquely punishing Target for imaginary satanic trans babies or whatever. No doubt you'll bleat "go woke go broke" and forget that this ever happened in 3 months when Target's stock is no worse for the wear.
Christ almighty, Republicans are so, so out of touch.
Yes, the marker overall is being battered. However, Target's graph shows a stark and precipitous decline correlating with the negative news cycle about this issue, and Walmart's graph does not show a corresponding decline in the same time period. You are truly bending backward to claim that no one cares about this except small-town churchgoers and Liberty University students. But the facts don't align. People are reacting to this, and Bud Light, etc, just not for the reasons you think. It's not because their Christian morals are outraged. It's that they think this stuff is weird and demented. People are fine with gay rights, religious freedom, etc-- this is solidly mainstream. Bud Light and Target are pushing outside of the mainstream. Satanic trans activist toddlers is not yet a concept within the Overton window.
This is what I think is weird and demented. This is the America that I just do not understand. And I'd rather hang out with Satanists than these creeps. Satanists at least seem to have a sense of humor and would be fun.
DP. What an odd post. You realize you're comparing one extremist group to another, right? What do the people in this picture have to do with the everyday, "normal" American that is the subject of this thread? Zero.

So just FYI, Benny Johnson is a perfect example of someone who is SO interesting and fun for people who are Very Online -a and just doesn't exist outside of the Very Online world. If you're citing Benny Johnson, you're in a weird little MAGA loop.
But, as we keep saying - the more you stay in this strange little padded walls universe talking to each other and sure you're speaking to and for everyone, the less your chances of winning elections. Not no chance - I'll never be that cocky - but you lessen the chances for sure.
DP. Your post is 100% projection - astoundingly so. It is *liberals* who constantly cite, quote, and post garbage from "Very Online" personalities that zero normal people have ever heard of or care about. Look at this website. It's full of people who pat themselves on the back every time they post or retweet something from a rando that NO ONE else has ever heard of - only LWNJs. Honestly, the number of times this happens per day on this website could prove to be a very fun drinking game.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Target and other corporations are the ones out of touch with normal people. How do you think your average person is going to react to tuck friendly swimsuits, Pride onesies for babies, "gender fluid" mugs, and clothing designed by a Satanist. Adidas recently used a male to model a woman's swimsuit and we all know what happened to Budlight after the Dylan Mulvaney debacle. Your normal, average person is turned off by all of this being shoved in our faces especially when kids are being targeted. If you think it is just Republicans think again.
Do you not believe in capitalism? Corporations are based on one thing and one thing alone - making money. Usually by selling something. If it doesn't sell they'll stop production.
Are you a commie who wants to regulate businesses?
No it actually has to do with the following below. Companies are rewarded for pushing this stuff because it improves their scores. Nothing to do with sales although Bud light is definitely feeling the almost 30% drop in sales.
This is a great point. When people argue that a cashless society is VERY bad news, this is why. Banks, in order to get their equity ratings, etc, up, could refuse you access to your own money if you plan to spend it on something they don’t approve of. Imagine wanting to buy a single family home and a bank now allowing you to get a mortgage for it because it’s not in an approved neighborhood, or they don’t approve of single family dwellings. Or if you have cash to purchase the home, not allowing you to withdraw the cash to do so. Don’t believe me? There are banks in the UK posting signs now stating that they have the right to refuse you access to a withdrawal from your own account until it is approved by the bank.
Yes, imagine that. It actually happened once upon a time. Look up “redlining.”![]()

I guess you're unaware of this, but stock prices and trends are easily Googled. Target has lost $9b and is continuing to slide, even as of today. It does not seemed to have reached bottom, either, as it has not yet had a "dead cat bounce." Give me your alternative theory of why the market is savaging Target, since apparently all the normies are totally into satanic trans babies now and that can't be it.

I have to say, there's a lot I hate about Republicans - and their scary, apocalyptic "promises" about what's coming is up there at the top of what I hate most. But it's a big top. Very top-heavy.
Isn't it the Democrats who have been talking about their apocalyptic "promises" concerning climate change? Al Gore said many of the world's coastal cities would be inundated by sea level rise by 2023. Of course, he said that while owing a Tennessee mansion with three people living in it that consumed more power than a small town. Liberal hypocrite.
yes and humans did a lot in the intervening 30 years to help mitigate so instead of 2023 it is now more like 2050, but there is still more to do to try to prepare while also mitigating. Thanks for making the point that we CAN do something about it.
Also in one case we're trying to avoid the catastrophic existential threat - climate change
While in the other, the Rs are positively giddy about a dictator. They know that saying this stuff is creepy, weird, and sort of scary to normies - but those R weirdos love it, themselves.
I guess they love the threat of climate change, too. They're lusting for it. They are such strange and off-putting people.
LOL! Dictator? Forcing people to get vaccinated or lose their jobs? Even when the vaccination is not proven to work?
Forcing schools to close by local Dem School Boards. And, the President supporting those SB and attacking those who criticize. Mandating that Trans women and girls be allowed in women sports? Contrary to public wishes.
The only people forced to get vaccinated were federal employees. No one else was, at least not by the government.
It was the teachers, who were in a vulnerable position who chose not to teach in person. Who was going to teach if the teachers weren't?
Complete misinformation. The vaccine mandate was for any business who did any kind of work with the federal government. That included linemen working outside with utility companies to merchandise stockers at Walmart.
Over 80 million people were affected by that ruling.
For a vaccine that neither stopped transmission or contracting Covid. It only helped the person getting it, not society as a whole.
You and your bodily autonomy can go pound sand.
Never mind that there are still people who are virtue signaling about the vaccine. I have (had) a friend who insists that she is ‘protecting her father’ by no longer letting me in her home, making me mask outside, sit over 10 feet away, etc. It’s virtue signaling and I told her this year I will not play Covid gymnastics anymore and ended the friendship.
I wonder if her father died, and she isn't letting anyone in so she can keep it a secret and keep collecting Social Security checks.
Nope. Her father lives on his own. It’s all one huge virtue signal. Her own kids travel extensively and there’s no problem with the interactions. It’s punishment because I vote R. So bye bye ‘friend’
If you haven’t been vaccinated then of course she is keeping you away from her elderly father. Good for her for protecting him.
Typical republican unable to think of other people. You did her a favor by stepping out of her life.
Anaphylaxis to the first. Do I take a second and die?
Lol. Oh just now down the thread you mention that?![]()

At least they'd never wear anything in front of you, since you'd judge them for it.
The whole reason Pride month/parades etc. exists is because of centuries of oppression of gay people. Not just oppression but imprisonment and more. Legalized oppression and discrimination and even execution in certain countries. And a reaction to that is the assertion of their right to exist. "We here, we're queer, get used to it." It's a way of saying they are not going to hide anymore. Straight people who don't like it have no one to blame but themselves for their mistreatment of the gay community over most of human history.
Except that no one cares…? Everyone *is* used to it. LGBT people are mainstream now. Really weird that you think otherwise. And btw, this is the US - not “other countries.”

Most people had no issues with gay people and fully supported their rights until the TQ latched onto the LGB and there was a big shift in the direction of the movement. Now nearly 20% of Gen Z identity as LGBQT which is unheard of in earlier generations. Transgender people used to be extremely rare but it has sky rocketed over the past 5 years especially among teenage girls. You have to be an idiot to believe there is no social contagion going on. Males are now competing in women's sports and winning women's awards, ridiculous sayings like uterus havers, pronouns in bios. Companies are creating LGBQT merchandise geared specifically for kids including babies and parents are sick of their kids constantly being exposed to this stuff. There are plenty of gay people who are fed up with what has happened to their community as well with some suggesting the LGB separate from the TQ. When the pendulum swings too far in one direction it will inevitably swing back the other way.
Yeah, no. Gay person here. Mainstream culture has only been accepting of gays and lesbians in the last decade. Most of my gay friends, especially ones older than me, remember all too well of the discrimination and prejudice they experienced in the 80, 90s and early 2000's. Seeing this same type of discrimination against transgendered people reminds us all that the homophobia from the past has never truly gone away.
Please stop patronizing us gay people, especially now that it's socially acceptable to accept us, and insinuate that we are not in favor of trans rights. If anything, we realize that if trans people are ostracized and society accepts it, gay people will be next.

The Satanist who designed the “Satan respects pronouns” shirt is the same designer Target selected to create merchandise for this year’s pride campaign. Your friend in that video is misrepresenting the relationship that Target has with the Satanist.

And FWIW, the artist has been inundated with requests from others to buy their merchandise.

Do you realize how the stock market works? Target stock is actually trending up this morning.

We get it. You hate gay people and think they should be hidden away so you don't have to think about them.
Well guess what. Gay people exist. They are human beings just like you are. And they have a right to exist and to live their lives. So what if there is merchandise geared toward them. Completely insane to be losing your sh!t because there's merchandise connected to the LGBTQ community. WTF. There's also merchandise geared toward hunters. And Disney lovers. And left-handers - does that freak you out? Left-handers are outliers, too.

DP. You truly sound unhinged. "Hate gay people"? Do you even hear yourself? I have several gay people in my family who would never in a million years wear clothing that advertised their sexuality - neither, for that matter, would the heterosexual people I know. Very, very strange to think of people only in terms of their sexuality. Why on earth would anyone advertise it? I certainly don't care who you love. But it seems you really, really want to broadcast it. Why is that?
