Small price to pay for being so progressive.
Then why is San Francisco safer than Alaska? Facts are inconvenient, huh?
When you ignore crime your stats go down. Amazing how that works.
So now your just making sht up to deny reality. Gotcha.
dp.. SFPD doesn't do anything about nonviolent crime so property crime is probably not reported much, and SF has a lot of petty property crime.
However, AK has more violent crime, for sure. From a personal safety perspective, SF is safer than AK.
Actually property crime is still reported by anyone that wants to file an insurance claim. You need a police report. If you don’t want to file an insurance claim or contact the police then how much is that type of crime really costing anyone?
most people aren't filing insurance claims for petty crime.
Also, here's an SF Supervisor who pushed for "defund the police" who is now asking for more police presence as crime ticks up in her area.

DH used to live in SF in the 90s, and I used to go see him a lot from where I lived in SV. Lots of places were gentrifying, which of course, pushed the real estate prices up, which is one of the reasons why there are so many more homeless people in SF and petty theft. The col is ridiculous there, but defunding the police did not help the situation there.
