Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think Pomona’s campus is boring. Nothing that’s architecturally interesting—just a lot of Spanish colonial with red tile roofs. And it shares a campus with a bunch of other schools. I get that SoCal has nice weather, and that access to LA is a plus. But I wouldn’t want to go to college there, regardless of its academic reputation.

They’re already in order, just put amherst under CMC

Shouldn't Amherst be first?

Amherst
CMC
Middlebury
Davidson
Colgate
Bucknell

For history, government, and public policy? Not at all. Look at CMC’s ppe program, ath, and government faculty along with all the research institutes. That’s their bread and butter.

Only if your kid is a Republican.

It’s just not a conservative school. I get that this is a punchy line for you DC folk, but the place is overtly liberal and even if it wasn’t, way outnumbered by the 5000 other liberal students at the Claremont colleges.

The most under-rated LACS are the ones that got knocked down the most because of the methodological changes in recent years

No it’s not. Show proof

We've got a show proof bro in the house. Go talk to people on The Street. The more successful, the better. That's your proof.

I do, and when I ask them about Bucknell they say, “what’s that?”

So you’re lying through your teeth. Every other elite institution can show data, but not you’re hiding your tail, why is that?

They've all added nonsensical metrics like social mobility and students receiving Pell grants; things which have zero to do with school quality. I like Davidson but it isn't Midd. Never has been either. One just has to hope that the incoming Midd president doesn't make foolish changes in response to the latest flavor of equity adjustment.
