Even beyond training the girls for college, it would probably just me more fun and interesting, most notably for the girls who get to meaningfully defend (not just chase ball when an offense stalls) and for the offense to try more ways to attack the goal. You still see strategy with a clock - sometimes hold longer and sometimes push pace - but many dmv teams are certainly strong enough to play with a clock now. It really would be good!

I think the SR poster above also agreed to have the rules change as it would be good to train the girls for college. Sounds like some bitterness from SJC nation. The better team and better coach won today.

It was obvious the 4-minute clock drain at the end was SR’s coach-led calculated strategy to win the game. They deployed it right after their coach called a TO.

I recall SR parents crying foul when SSAS pulled a similar move to beat them last year. SR nation now has no leg to stand on when other teams use this strategy against them. Can’t have it both ways, SR.

Well … SJC never held the ball for 4+ minutes passing to each other just beyond the restraining line simply to burn clock. SJC’s possessions took time but they never spent more than a minute setting up their plays before they attempted to execute. Yes, the rules are the rules - but the rules need to change.

It would be good to have a shot clock. Baltimore HS plays with one. It would prepare the girls for college as well. Regarding today’s game, SR did hold the ball at the end, but there were numerous STJ possessions that they held the ball for a considerable long time where they would have also lost possession if a clock were in play. Both teams played by the rules today. A very good game.

SJC vs Stone Ridge. You had to be there. A great game all the way to the end. Excellent play by some of the best of 23 and 24 in the DMV. Stone Ridge has always been on top, but SJC is coming to play and they should not be underestimated. I say it again, their midfield line is some of the best in the DMV, defenders stepping up big and a strong attackers. One girl is quick and will run you over. A freshman, I hear. It was a down to the second game. And can we PLEASE get a shot clock. 2 minutes of ring around the rosey - so blah. Best lax seen in a long time. A fight to the end.

SR 12 - SJC 11. A great game all around.

It was tied at 11. SR held the ball for the last 4+ minutes and scored with 49 seconds left.

SJC won possession and nearly tied the game at the end on a missed 8 meter.

SJC came back from a 0-5 game start and competed today.

Incredible game.

STJ played inspired. SR finally woke up to take the victory.
