Hopkins isn’t as desirable after COVID. These kids want to have a better college experience than slamming out perfect scores every day. Even the pointiest kids today are looking at their state school instead of accepting at the highest ranked overpriced school. These kids are smart.

Nephew goes there (recruited athlete). Likes it so much that when another very highly ranked school tried to recruit him out for Jr/Sr year he turned them down.

Revealed preference shows up in the cross-admit data and choice - Johns Hopkins hasn;t moved. Still loses to the same schools.

USNWR rankings in 2024 are heavily based only social mobility. This is not why most students choose a college, so in my opinion, throw out the 2024 rankings unless you really want to choose your school based on social mobility.

Most students want academic factors in their university, which have been seriously downgraded in USNWR 2024. Small class sizes, for example, have 0% contribution this year, down from 7.5% contribution in last years USNWR.

Seriously flawed. So don't pat yourself too hard on the back Johns Hopkins booster based on one flawed ranking.

After passing Chicago in the USNWR rankings and getting all that Bloomberg $$, Hopkins is as desirable as ever. Is it the highest ranked school that has EDII now?

That area is completely different from the undergraduate campus. I don’t understand why you would post if you only visited a hospital.

OFC it is. But there are some things that some students don't like. But it is still a highly sought after university.

I went there and disagree. Yes there are kids there who don’t leave the library (you’ll find that anywhere), but greek life is popular and there is plenty to do for the kids who are social. Baltimore is fun for college kids and the campus is really pretty.

It’s just really hard to get admitted.

I lived in Baltimore and nothing about it is "fun."

I lived in Baltimore in the recent past and as an adult , I could describe it as "oh! it is quirky interesting" but fun? Esp. for undergrads? Nope!
