Don't let this fade away. We deserve to know what happened.
There was a crash in downtown Bethesda several months ago. A car went up onto the sidewalk on Bethesda Ave and pinned a pedestrian under the car. There were helicopters all over and it was reported on the early news -- 4:00 -- with helicopter footage over the crash. That was it. Not a single mention of it at 5, 6 or 11 o'clock news or ever again. Just like it hadn't happened. One of my kids walked by and saw it. I saw it on the 4 o'clock news so it did happen. Makes you wonder.
Yes, there is a big conspiracy to hide car accidents. Auto lobbyists pay off news orgs to downplay stories so people still keep buying cars.
Or, it’s not big news. Car gets into accident. People get hurt. The end.
The most newsworthy aspect is that it wasn't reported on the news.
Why do you think it wasn’t reported?
Maybe someone important was driving the car? I have no idea. But it is newsworthy. I watch the news every day and this is the kind of thing they report on.
“Someone important” is driving an Uber?
You don’t have a theory about why it’s not being reported?

6,000,000 car accidents every year.

6,500 pedestrians die from car accidents every year.
Nobody even died in this one.
You're working pretty hard to make us think this was nothing. It wasn't nothing. It's a big deal.
No more than thousands of actually-fatal accidents.
Fatalities are not the only measure of importance. This car slammed through the wall of a restaurant/bar where people were peacefully sitting, then burst into flames. To shrug and say, "eh, no one died" is crazy.
If an airplane successfully makes an emergency landing on a highway, it's news, even if no one dies. We hear all about it -- who the pilot was, what the issues with the plane were, ETC!!!!

We've having parallel conversations. The comment was about the crash in downtown Bethesda that pinned a pedestrian under a car.
What’s your theory? Why isn’t news media all over these accidents?

I said, I don't know -- maybe someone important was driving the car, or the person pinned under the car was important. Who knows. But it's odd that it wasn't covered extensively.
