Do you really know how they vote? Time to get the rubber hoses...
We have an American flag at our city house and country house. We are very liberal. My husband is retired Air Force.
He is adamant that the flag belongs to ALL OF US!!

If it's just an expression of your love for your country, then hang it inside your home. It's the in-your-face need to display your ideals/group identification out there for all to see (not just limited to flags of all kinds but also includes bumper stickers and the like) that I can't stand. Keep it to yourselves.
THIS 100x.
I think it's partly why we get the arrogant rep from other countries. I mean, good god, is it that important to fly the flag everywhere? I'd much rather truly be living in a Dem society with more justice, less guns, nicer society and better social programs. Flying the flag is nothing but drama. Loving your country is more than this. Much more.
It can be both. We proudly fly the American flag by our front porch.

+1. I really can't stand those Republican coexist bumper stickers.
Funny you should mention that.
I had a coexist bumper sticker AND a pro-Trump bumper sticker on my car, and someone cut two of my tires.
I guess coexisting only works one way.

And was a huge criminal.
And Republicans still support him.
My relatives fought in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Most of my family has been here since the 1600s.
My father was a Vietnam Vet.
I'll be damned if some conservative gets to tell me I'm not American enough to fly the flag.
Um, on the contrary - the only people doing that are liberals, hysterically insisting conservatives have "no right" to fly the flag. This forum seems to be where LWNJ loons hang out. Never seen anything like it.
DP
The only people who do what you say the “liberals” do are the “conservatives” and their ranting media. You live in a Fantasy world of your own making ..always the victim.

Anonymous wrote:Except flying the American flag is jingoistic and patriotic, and says you’re proud of this country. Which is definitely at-odds with how progressives view America. They see this country as something to be embarrassed about and apologize for.
So it’s a little hard to rationalize flying our flag while at the same time being embarrassed about being an American and celebrating a country that you believe can’t do anything right and was founded by white men that you viscerally hate.
That’s why liberals can’t simply fly an American flag.
They’d need a modified American flag with a giant asterisk in the upper right corner.
