I'm glad Jere was able to move on. Thought he and Denise were cute. Conrad should have moved on too previously instead of just pining for Belly that whole time.

I have defended Belly against the haters who are obsessed with Conrad, but yeah, Belly's coldness these past two episodes was too much for me. The POV obviously switched from Belly to Conrad when this is supposed to be (or so Jenny Han says) Belly's story.

You need to look up anxious attachment types.

I think Han made an artistic choice to go with symmetry: Belly is the yearner at first, and Conrad is the one who doesn't want to give into his feelings.

Then it switches to Conrad as the yearner.

But was that the right choice? Why does the audience resent Belly as the object of affection and accept Conrad as yearner, but not the reverse? By audience, I mean the majority of people outside of DCUM.

Is it misogyny? Is it the fact that despite attempting to create symmetry, Han failed because people will always sympathize with Conrad since his coldness was rooted in his mother's illness and death? Is it simply recency bias? More people have gotten into TSITP this season and they will empathize with the last character who was given the short end of the stick?
