How is it common sense when vaxed still spread Covid? It also creates segregation and forces businesses to discriminate based on medical information. Many vaxed people are also against the mandates and stupid passports.
+100! And healthy, unvaccinated nurses couldn't come in to work during the Omicron surge, while COVID-positive, vaccinated nurses could continue working with patients. Madness. Funny that you mention segregation, since there was a discussion of how the mandates are not segregation a few pages ago.

On he mask - simple - she has a 4 year and wants her and her classmates in masks so I have been told.

Lol. Yep, those who want to dictate how others live instead of just fitting themselves with a nice N95 are the epitome of entitlement.
Yep. What I don't get is how anyone can be surprised the mask mandate is being lifted. Wasn't it inevitable after the case numbers came way back down? Certainly we can argue if March 1 is too soon and it should be April 1 or later, but this cycle is a lot like last spring.
For me, it's not that I'm surprised the mask mandate is being lifted. Of course it has to go. What surprises me is that the mask mandate is lifted, the vaccination mandate is lifted, EXCEPT that vaccinated kids still have to wear masks all day in school. That is the part I don't get and that I'm angry about.
Unfortunately it's proving to be life in blue America. We keep kids masked to pacify the neuroses of the adults, and so we don't look like those murderous red states.

What do you think the vaccine mandate in DC accomplished, exactly? Other than helping Virginia restaurants?
VA resident here. We drove to DC specifically because of the mandate.
And many others drove to VA to be able to eat indoors, so, I suppose highways getting busier with unnecessary dining traffic is the only "advantage"![]()
Also DC relies on tourism and has lots of foreign visitors, not all are vaxed or have CDC approved vaccines available to them in their countries. Tourists don't want to deal with vax passports either
There will always be people from the suburbs who get tired of Applebees and drive into the city for dinner, mandate or not.

A lot of them are forced to take boosters after being fully vaxed and then recovering from Covid. Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I'm fine with dropping the mask mandate but the vaccine mandate was good, common-sense public health policy.

Yeah it's absolutely insane. I don't blame Bowser though, she's already getting backlash from the vocal covid deranged who will make sure we'll be living under these restrictions for years if one of her opponents wins.
Nah. At some point "F around find out" will come into play on the intersection of these deranged policies and Home Rule.
