But relatedly, my daughter has been obsessed with Moana the last few months and I vacillate between appreciating LMM and hating him with the heat of 1000 suns because on the on hand, Shiny is really funny and fun, and on the other hand if I hear “I am Moana!!” one more time I will actually die.

LMM is what we had to do before ChatGPT came along to create template-driven safe music.

For instance, saying that Moana is the “BEST Disney film ever made, hands down”, is an extremely objective statement. But the thing is, no one here is criticizing the people who make THESE positive objective statements; only the people with negative ones seem to be getting criticized for being narcissistic, and “bad” and such. It seems that when someone, anyone, has a strong opinion or feeling about something like music or art, either good or bad, their opinion really does represent a truth, because they are actually sensing something in the music itself or in the art itself that makes them feel it as ugly or makes them feel that it is beautiful. So in some real sense, our subjective reality is also an objective reality as well. So please don’t judge people when they feel that their opinions and beliefs are correct, UNLESS that is, their opinions and beliefs end up causing harm to others. I think it’s only then that it is a good thing to put up a fight against them. Otherwise, one person has just as much of a right to think that some music stinks as someone else who thinks it’s the best music that has ever been written.
