It’s going to be okay. A friend had a bad GPA and went to a bottom of the barrel law school and finished at the bottom of his class. He has a great practice, makes really good money, and enjoys his work. A relative had perfect test scores and GPA, got a PhD, and is miserable.

I’d focus on what your kid is really interested in, or several things he’s interested in because kids change their minds. Find some colleges that offer those majors and where he can grow. Going to a high level Ivy or similar doesn’t make a difference in so many different careers. Happiness does. Yes, I get it, there are some careers where it could help, but don’t worry about the highly skewed view in this area. There is a whole world out there. 3.5 is great!

Is your DC OOS for MSU? Think someone instate with a 3.2 weighted GPA might not get into MSU.

What are you now doing? Were your stats based on total effort? Did you need to work/have other responsibilities that took away from your study time?

FYI, she had very weak rigor, no honors, no AP, Algebra 2 senior year. Always a below average student. She is in third year of Towson and thriving as Elementary Ed major. It was the right school for her. Course rigor is important.

Congrats to your DD! I am glad to know she is thriving at Towson, and we really need more teachers! Yeah!

Just to be clear, the schools you cite ARE the main campus, of their school. That is to say, Shippensburg is a university, not a branch or some directional school. Same for Frostburg. Same for IUP. Perhaps you meant UNC-charlotte.
