Most Americans don’t own anything or have a 401k. It is a sign of having grown up poor which I assume was the case for him in Nebraska. He probably had a dad that didn’t have a credit card and believed in cash only and didn’t believe in banks or mortgages.

I have older family members that are like that but it is unusual that he would not own a home or have a 401k as a freaking governor.

That’s just being cheap.

This is "per tax filings" they say. So anything in a 403b would not be reported right? You don't pay taxes on your 403b. Same for 457s?

OK, thanks. That does make sense. His 401ks and 403bs would not be reported. It makes more sense now.

and here is the Vance "rally"

Trump’s appeal is over. Vance just never had any.

Do a little research on the last 3 (at least) rallies Trump has had in Wisconsin the past few months. Kamala is playing catch up.

Here is just one:

June 18. 6 weeks before the tides completely changed. He drew those crowds when he was running against Biden. He hasn't drawn major crowds anywhere since Biden stepped down, The wind is gone from his sails.

His rallies since Harris took over have been the half-filled halls and small outdoor events.

And he's frothing at the mouth over it.

I have asked twice already for examples. This is my third request for examples of Trump and/or fellow Republicans frothing at the mouth, or having a conniption fit, or melting down. Not one person has replied with any evidence.

Here you go.
Do you not remember this??

Well let’s see, for decades they were both teachers who don’t make much money. They needed IVF to have their kids, and one of them has a learning disability. Sent both kids to college. He was in Congress where you need to maintain a place to stay here as well as your residence. Now he’s the Governor. Not sure they really ever had a lot of extra money. But I’m sure we’ll find out more when we see their tax returns.

Thanks, I will be very interested if/when they are released. The man is 60 something with no investments. Pretty shocking in my world.

Not that unusual for a small town teacher, in my experience. My mom retired from teaching with a pension and nothing else.

The guy is a governor, not a teacher. Hasn’t been a teacher since 2006. Something is seriously wrong with this picture.

He and his wife probably have teacher pensions. He also has a Congressional pension and possibly a Gubinitorial pension. Like most Americans, he doesn't have a lot saved up. Why is this so shocking?

Yes! Also, do people understand how pensions work? It’s a percentage of income that gets taken out each paycheck and…invested. It’s a pretty substantial portion in fact. So I am not sure it is accurate to say that teachers with pensions haven’t “saved” or “invested” anything. After tax, social security and pension gets taken out each month there isn’t a whole lot to throw in the stock market. -A teacher

Many Americans are in the same financial situation, and if anything makes Wolz far more relatable. Which, until recently, was something MAGA kept arguing about Trump.

The Governor’s salary is $130K.

Right but he lives in the Governor’s mansion rent free, has free transportation and I’m sure there is a large budget for entertaining. That doesn’t come out of his salary.

Honestly I think he outshines Harris. Not in a negative way, like he's trying to steal attention. He's just naturally charismatic

Yeah this sounds like most people I know. Other poster is in a sweet bubble.

I’m a bit worried about his money management skills, honestly. Time will tell, I guess.
