The excuse wasn’t just player safety (that was just one reason) but the upper division programs put a much larger emphasis in sustaining their football programs (larger budgets, bigger staffs, greater emphasis on recruiting etc etc)
The B division has 5 teams (PVI, Ireton, O’Connell, Ryken, Carroll. And contrary to what you said, there have been plenty of D1 recruits from programs in the B division (Carrol and Ryken have D1 players) it’s just a fraction of what program like GC or GZ or DM have a regular basis.
You must be an AD coming up with an excuse.

I get that the lesser team may have a handful of boys who are trying to get recruited and the top team look at these games as an opportunity to get their second and third string some playing time but as an O’Connell dad who is going to watch this at leas 5 more times over the season it borders on cruel.
I agree. This issues has been discussed for years. Not sure why they don't see it the same from lax as they do for the football in the WCAC. It just not enjoyable for all and it is not good for the players, school and conference. Split them up...split them up!!! MIAA does it I believe and no reason why WCAC shouldn't do it if they have done it for football. You could also say the same about basketball PVI just kills everybody to the point they have enough money to play an out conference schedule that takes them to the best tournaments and game across the country. They barely play homes game and then play the WCAC slate where they just steam roll every school (they did have the best team ever) but it typically plays out this way every year for basketball. But for lax is long overdue and agree as PP posted WCAC Commissioner lazy! Honestly, I have not heard a reason for not doing it! Don't give me other schools players want a chance to be recruited. If that where the case they would be at another schools. I also understand DS wants to play also and not be at a school like GZ, SJC and PVI with enough boys and interest they end up riding the bench or flat out quit so it is a catch 22.
Hang in there O'Connell dad and keep it positive for DS.

DeMatha has some players and the goalie is not bad. Just not the best coaching unfortunately. But not surprised that one was close as i would think they matched up very well.

Bullis should win by 6+ goals
Spalding is actually quite good. They will be 4th or 5th in the MIAA this year. Would not surprise me to see them beat Bullis.
Not buying into the Spalding hype.
Saint Mary's is likely the best private this Spring from the Annapolis region.
Bullis wins big this afternoon.
Actually, St. Mary's lost every starter including fogo and LSM to graduation except for one pole. They will finish below Spalding who has a strong '25 class and possibly Severn.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:PVI must be weak this year if they hardly beat STAB - does anyone have a recap?
STAB must be very down for their standards if they lost to Severn 10+ goals. The former Taft coach who is now at STAB has a long way to go.
PVI has not be tested yet. They have a heavy rotation of a 2026 class that are all VLC players who all played for the HC before taking the PVI job. Hardest game on the schedule will be GZ and SJC. Then we will see how they stack up in the WCAC I have them losing to GZ and winning vs SJC.
Agree STAB has a long way to go from Shelly days. Some transfers from TAFT and HC is also coaching the Madlax 2026 team where some of his STAB players are playing Club.
Bullis will be hosting Spalding today. Will Bullis be able to hang with the MIAA for the first real test of the season. Most on this board believe they are not very good.
GZ with a smack down on Eye Street and Landon picks up a win after taking it from Gilman.
Who does Prep and SJC have in the next few days?
