Agreed. WCAC could even have a 6 team top division. 5 against the tier. 2-3 against Baltimore/MIAA. 2-3 against PA, 2-3 against IAC, 2-3 against top publics, 2 against other regions. The bottom tier could do the same and play each other twice to fill in those games. The AD's could copy and past their football schedule and schedule the others.

I agree. This issues has been discussed for years. Not sure why they don't see it the same from lax as they do for the football in the WCAC. But for lax is long overdue and agree as PP posted WCAC Commissioner lazy! Honestly, I have not heard a reason for not doing it! Don't give me other schools players want a chance to be recruited. If that where the case they would be at another schools. I also understand DS wants to play also and not be at a school like GZ, SJC and PVI with enough boys and interest they end up riding the bench or flat out quit so it is a catch 22.

While I agree with the overall sentiment of this post and the one below it. It isn't as easy as it sounds.

First, football is divided up for safety reasons. You have essentially high end DI athletes competing against D3 and kids that just want to play. Football is an inherently more dangerous sport than lacrosse. It just is. Thus, you don't have the issues of safety with lacrosse.

Second, the MIAA is comprised of about 25 schools and it is a mix of catholic, private, and other religious schools. That allows it to divide up the sports into a variety of ways based on competitiveness like having 3 divisions of approximately 8 teams in each division. WCAC has what 10-12 schools. Hard to divide that and still have a season. The only way dividing it up would work into something like this would be to combine the IAC and WCAC - I don't see that happening any time soon.

Third, the MIAA generally plays their regular season games Tuesday and Friday once conference schedule tees off. Where is the time the in schedule to play a WCAC during conference play. Not really anywhere and why would the MIAA do something like that. It has no reason just because the WCAC is unbalanced.

DeMatha was up 9-5 at the half. DM offense only scored one goal in the second half. DM plays two junior goalies - one righty and one lefty. The second half goalie (righty) played amazing. Two starting defensmen did not play a good portion of the 4th due to leg injuries - looked like leg cramps. Heights scored two extra man goals with those starters out. Heights played well and fought hard.

Actually, St. Mary's lost every starter including fogo and LSM to graduation except for one pole. They will finish below Spalding who has a strong '25 class and possibly Severn.

STM is dying a slow death in Annapolis. Poor leadership in the school. All top kids from Annapolis now head to Spalding. STM will be in the B conference before long. Once proud lacrosse school is a dumpster fire with the new administration. Sad times.

Agree. Their LSM is a top 10 kid nationally and they have D1 recruits throughout lineup. Sort of like Bullis w the attack man then a bunch of DI kids. It will be an even game.

Totally agree with this post. Our son graduated from GZ a few years ago and I still follow my Eagles and other area programs.

Being on the winning side or the losing side of a major lopsided contest is not fun for the players, coaches and parents. It's turning into a waste of time and resources. ($$$ spent on game officials, transportation etc. etc)

The MIAA has a "A" a "B" and even a C" conference for all sports. Time for the WCAC commissioner to get his head out of his rear and some of the bonehead AD's and come together with a solution. The current state is actually hurting the sport and its future growth.

A Division:
1. GZ
2. SJC
3. PVI
4. GC
5. DM

B Division:
1. Ryken
2. The Heights
3. Ireton
4. O'Connell
5. McNamara
6. Carroll (does ABC have a lax program anymore? I know previously a GZ alum founded and helped bankroll their program a decade ago)

If a program in the B division wins the "B" title two years in a row, they have the opportunity to choose if they wish to move up to the upper "A" division. And if a program in the "B" division" like the Heights or Ryken for example want to challenge themselves and schedule a program in the "A" division, then they are free to do so.

As for the "A" division teams, this would allow for them to schedule more non league games with MIAA / IAC rival programs. It's a win -win for all programs.

I can't fathom why the AD's haven't adopted this tiered approach yet. Parents, alumni have been saying this years now and nothing has been done.

Get it together ADs, its what is best for the players and coaches!

I’ve been told it’s difficult to schedule 5 extra games against non league opponents once conference play starts. In hoops, it would be 10+. You get 5 easy wins, everybody plays, etc.

PVI has not be tested yet. They have a heavy rotation of a 2026 class that are all VLC players who all played for the HC before taking the PVI job. Hardest game on the schedule will be GZ and SJC. Then we will see how they stack up in the WCAC I have them losing to GZ and winning vs SJC.

Agree STAB has a long way to go from Shelly days. Some transfers from TAFT and HC is also coaching the Madlax 2026 team where some of his STAB players are playing Club.

Bullis will be hosting Spalding today. Will Bullis be able to hang with the MIAA for the first real test of the season. Most on this board believe they are not very good.

GZ with a smack down on Eye Street and Landon picks up a win after taking it from Gilman.
