You were that girl in college who went to Paris for her junior year (summer?) study abroad, fell in love with the city/Europe in general and promised herself that she'd become une vraie parisienne by hook or by crook! Then, you returned back to your university and got married 2-3 years after graduating. You met your husband whilst working in PR for a non-profit in NYC at an Alliance Francaise event. He is, who else, a Frenchman.
You two ONLY speak French to each other and your girls and your francophilia never went away (thus, you gave your daughters French names that could also "pass" for American ones). You sent Claire and Elise to an over-priced "maternelle" (or American pre-school equivalent with a French twist) to make sure that they "were as culturally enriched as possible early on" and dropped beaucoup bucks on a house in McLean so that they could attend Kent Gardens, because "OMG, immersion."
You visit your in-laws in Lyon every summer and write Facebook statuses about going to Johnny Halliday concerts and celebrate Bastille Day in your backyard every year like it's your job. You're a SAHM and your husband works for the French embassy; the French Ambassador is a "dear friend of the family."
