The sooner everyone is more honest about this, the sooner we save ourselves. Every nice thing we have (clean water, car insurance, fast internet, workers comp, etc) is because we've made it happen through voting, expectations, societal pressure. It's easy to forget we're not owed anything.

They’ve got the run of the house, a fridge full of ice cream, unrestricted cable TV, an unlimited credit card, and all their friends are over having the party of their lives. Never mind that the lawn is on fire, the furniture is smashed, the dog is missing, and the police are banging on the door, as long as they’re having fun. Which of them would vote to call Mom and Dad in and end it?

Mike Johnson will continue to play with his own turds over the next year, start whining at the end of this year when the Democrats take the House, and then suddenly remember what robust Congressional oversight looks like in 2029 when the Democrats take the Presidency.
