It's just our resident couple of morally-bankrupt trolls who also post on the Jan 6 / insurrection and classified docs thread, and pretend that Biden & son got bribes on that other wackadoodle thread.

Jeff has explained in the past that they're quite prolific, post all day, and just love coming here to rile up decent, honest folk.

Bear that in mind next time you think you might change their minds with logical discourse. No. They're here to annoy.

It's such a sad life, really. You almost feel bad for them.

Toadies? Are people here really cheering on Russia? This isn't a fan forum. Some people are just trying to assess things as they see it. That doesn't mean they love Russia or Russians. Ukraine couldn't end a minor rebellion. It's reasonable to assume victory is not inevitable, at least any time soon.

People on here were talking about an inevitable Ukraine counteroffensive that would push Russia back. If this counteroffensive failed, then blowing the dam would stop Russia from going further after beating the counteroffensive.

History shows the retreating side blows the dam.

That would be Russia. They're spent, have made no significant progress in 8 months, whereas the Ukrainians are replenished and ready to go on the offensive.

Remember when the US fought a twenty year war in Afghanistan and in the end nothing changed.

So far, this Ukraine war is almost ten years on... why not another ten?

The reason nothing changed in Afghanistan was because the us wasn’t willing to do what the Chinese do in xinjiang.

It wasn’t a capability issue but an issue of will/resolve and self imposed guardrails

Ukraine will grind on for a decade more because neither side has the capability.

In other words, the US will make sure Ukraine goes back to the stone age.

Great job Biden lads.

The US is not running this war or Ukraine.

The US is not running the war, just providing the money, equipment, logistical support, intelligence, satellites, rules of engagement and strategy. The war is over in two weeks if the US bows out.

In that scenario, millions of Ukrainians are killed under Russia goal of genocide.

Why is this a good thing, comrade?

Russia has never said it wanted to exterminate Ukrainians, and their actions within occupied territories are not consistent with genocidal intent. But I understand you need to believe that.

I am sure that Russia would prefer that Ukrainians simply accept their subservient status as part of the Russian empire. But given that Ukraine is not going to surrender, Russia believes that it has no choice but to commit genocide.

https://www.justsecurity.org/81789/russias-eliminationist-rhetoric-against-ukraine-a-collection/

Rhetoric means nothing. I mean the US says it's all about democracy and human rights, but their international posture and choice of friends speaks otherwise, don't you think?

Look at actions, not words.

The Russian Government and military are guilty of War Crimes, chooses North Korea, Iraq and other dictatorships as "friends", so what does that make Russia? Besides, according to Shoigu, Russia is doing just fine.

"The attempts at an offensive were thwarted, the enemy was stopped," he added. "The enemy did not achieve its goals but suffered significant and incomparable losses."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/russias-shoigu-ukraines-counter-offensive-155226283.html

If Shoigu is right, then you shouldn't need to post anymore! Actions are what matter. Go do something else. Go back to work! Have fun! Drink some Vodka and toast Russia's victory!

I think you use too few exclamation points. Use more! That'll make you sound more passionate.

So you're saying it's bad to count dictatorships amongst friends? Very well. I'm going to tune into the DOS briefing to hear them say they are severing relations with KSA, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain. Khalas. No more trade, no more weapons trading, no more oil, no more nothing. They are dictators and dictators cannot be our friends.

Cue "well THAT"s different."

Do you know what's the difference between Gulf State Arabs and russians? Indoor plumbing

As long as the autocratic country has toilets it's ok.

russia, Afghanistan and North Korea: no toilets = bad
Saudi Arabia, Qatar and China: toilets = good

I feel sorry for the itinerant Bangladeshis and Phillippinos in the Gulf States because the russians are about to take all their menial jobs.

"Because they have toilets" seems like a really dumb take. It's much more about whether they actually work with and cooperate with the West on mutual aims or not. Russia and North Korea not so much lately.

Isn't that what I said upthread? Democracy, human rights, that's unimportant. What's important? Compliance.

and toilets. But mostly toilets.

Hungary. Toilets. Israel. Toilets. South Africa. Toilets. Egypt. Toilets. Cambodia. Toilets. Turkey. Toilets.

North Korea. No toilets. Eritrea. No toilets. russia. No toilets.

The pattern is clear.

Facetious, my friend.

Many, if not most of them, are posting from bot farms somewhere in Russia.

A lot of the others are useful idiots- people who think they're in favor of peace, but have just fallen for Russian propaganda.

Some of the more prominent pro-Russian voices on social media are cynically taking money from the Russian government in exchange for pumping out Russian propaganda.

2. This "offensive" is an argument between Ukraine and NATO, being played out on the battlefield. Ukraine wants F-16s and more western equipment. That's positively Lavrovian! Did russia blow up more farm equipment? But no need to speculate, we'll all find out soon enough.

Ukraine shapes the battlefield while russia shapes the infosphere, lol. It's priorities like that that have put russia in its current predicament.

Meanwhile Ukraine is trying to rescue people in russian occupied Kherson, surrounding Bahkmut, and blowing up ammunition dumps in Luhansk.

Are you covered by the media blackout on the "offensive?" Rumor has it friendly media and bloggers are prohibited from talking about the "offensive."

I guess the plan is that if it fails, to pretend it never happened.

Won't take much to surpass the supposed Russian winter offensive where they measured progress in meters.

Maybe the young affluent patriots in Kiev’s crowded discos could paint vehicles while they shake off the hangover.
