No Fox Mill elementary school kids go to Hughes. Only Fox Mill Woods kids in Crossfield boundary do.

No one wants to go to Westfield, and mostly it is the location. It's in the middle of business centers and industrial spaces. Chantilly is in the middle of a bunch of neighborhoods. Of course it's easier and closer to get to Chantilly than it is to get to Westfield.

They need to move Walney Village and Walney Oaks both to Westfield. I'm worried they won't but that's the right move.
They should also move Chantilly Academy to Westfield. Westfield doesn't have an academy program and it makes sense to put it in a school with capacity.

From my home near Crossfield my child's Carson bus ride was always significantly longer than their current ride to Oakton.

Thats how Academies work. Kids bus in for a class. Chantilly people have been spoiled with the convenience.

Chantilly has the vocational programming. Westfield students are bused to Chantilly for any of the vocational classes. In terms of math curriculum, both Westfield and Chantilly offer Multivariable and Linear Algebra as the highest math classes.

They are both AP schools of similar size. The programming is very similar.

Not the first time the SB has dumped on the Western Fairfax schools and created crazy boundaries with different socio-economic neighborhoods (looking at you Kathy Smith and the Clifton Elem redistricting). It won’t be the last time either.
