Two can play at that game. If it’s good enough for the men (Youngkin and Leonsis) then it’s perfectly fine for Louise to do it as well. Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it. Louise is 80. She isn’t looking to run for President or Senate in the future. She has zero Fs to give at this point, as long as Portsmouth is protected. I am dying laughing at the rookie moves of Youngkin who thought this would be a lock.

Virginia is a right to work state so this won’t have much affect here. And I’m against the arena. We are not DC or Maryland that is pro union.

I hope she’s also going to demonstrate to her colleagues how much wishful thinking has been incorporated into the financial projections.

Ted should pay for his own GlennDome and not try to bully the Virginia taxpayers.

Right. And if the project makes inadequate revenues, who is the guarantor of the bond?

The State of Virginia, financed by the taxpayers of Virginia.

I may not be a billionaire, but I’m not stupid. This condescending ad is gross.

It will be so ironic if the football team moves back into DC when the others teams (except United) move to Virginia, leaving most MD and DC fans to choose between WFT and the Ravens, and switching back to the Orioles.

The Virginia Capitals and the Virginia Wizards certainly will lose my support. Of course, DMV's basketball and hockey history does really exist in Potomac Yards.

Two very lackluster franchises. No buzz at all and zero hardcore support.

The Orioles and Ravens are the only area teams with inherent value. Orioles due to iconic stadium and Ravens due to fantastic management

The Nats have a lot of support and fans

The Nats HAD a lot of support and fans. Unfortunately they were all fair-weather. Also, people come to DC to work, not to live. They come to the DMV and remain fans of teams from wherever they are from.
No one who is a Commanders fan. The DMV is not an area that appreciates American football. The Commanders could leave tomorrow and no one would care.
As for Leonsis, if he doesn’t get his new PY arena, he’s probably going to be taking the Wiz and Caps elsewhere.

I guess you are forgetting the decades of sellouts and decades ling waiting list for tickets pre-Dan Snyder. The region was passionate about the football team until Snyder killed it. It won't take much to get it back. The Bullets/Wizards and Caps were always the easier ticket, particularly when they played at the Capital Centre. The downtown move boosted Wizards attendance and Ovi put Caps ticket sales over the top. Ovi will retire soon, the Wizards are still irrelevant and Ted is basically a medicore at best owner.

But there is no passion in DC to spend a huge amount of tax money to have the Commandskins play in the District. Nostalgia for the RFK Redskins era has faded, and it's not enough when DC is facing a fiscal crisis.

And there’s no passion in Virginia to spend tax money to have the wizards and the caps play in Virginia.

Ted should just move them to another part of the country. Maybe North Dakota or Alabama.

Ted has lost us as fans regardless of whether his teams end up in PY or stay in DC. Vegas will gladly pay big bucks for the Wizards. The Capitals can go to Houston or wherever.
I’m just left asking why DC teams are saddled with pathetic mediocrity and evil owners.
