Agreed. The point is that she reminded her of her long-lost younger self, including the toxic dating. I can’t imagine that character serving any other narrative purpose. Too many other new characters to develop!

+1 and as someone else noted upthread, the Versace gown from Paris is not doing it for me this time. It looks just ... sad now. (I understand this is on purpose.)
It did remind me though of the necklace Petrovsky gave her - the little row of diamond beads, that got broken when she broke up with Alex. That was a great necklace.
