calls ICE "Nazi Gestapo thugs" in social media posts criticizing ICE's "kidnapping of our neighbor" in Providence, RI, which he calls an "act of terror", adding that "Providence doesn't want ICE thugs in our city."
The "neighbor" ended up being a MS-13 gang member facing fentanyl charges.
Sanchez posted a series of photos alleging that ICE damaged vehicles during the arrest. I reached out to ICE contacts to ask what happened here.
Three ICE sources with knowledge of this incident tell
@FoxNews
the following:
ICE was targeting a Honduran known MS-13 gang member, IVAN RENE-MENDOZA MEZA, who had pending local charges in RI for fentanyl trafficking and had been released from local custody with ICE's detainer ignored due to sanctuary policies. I'm told it was the 6th District Court in RI that ignored ICE's detainer.
When ICE agents attempted a traffic stop to arrest MENDOZA MEZA, he struck ICE vehicles before bailing out of his car and running into an apartment. He was surrounded and eventually surrendered. I'm told it was ICE vehicles and his own car that were damaged.
A photo of a smirking MENDOZA MEZA in ICE custody is below, courtesy of ICE sources.
In a statement to FOX, ICE is blasting Rep. Enrique Sanchez for his social media posts calling ICE "Nazi Gestapo thugs" over the incident, which were posted on Instagram, Facebook, and X:
"Mr. Sanchez thinks so little of his community he refers to ruthless MS-13 as "neighbors". What say you, Providence? The only thugs we see are the illegal terrorist gangbangers we are trying to remove from the neighborhoods of Providence."
- ICE spokesperson Emily Covington
Sure, sure…did have the photoshop MS13 tattoo on his knuckles, too?
Was he eating cats and the dogs?
Are they just about to release the Epstein-Trump client list?
When you lie about everything why would anyone believe you?
Face it. If it were up to democrats not one illegal alien would be deported. Not even the gangbangers or the criminals.
92 percent of people deported have no criminal record, dummy. He ran on getting rid of criminals but that’s not what’s happening.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Democrats on the wrong side of an issue yet again.

So this was happening before Trump and the current hysteria? The icing on top is that he was an illegal alien.
So you found the one exception on the list and think that it nullifies all the other ones? Such a clever Maga. Gold star for you!
I didn’t find anything. The poster mistakenly included an example of a masked ICE imposter during the Biden administration. That completely undermines the current narrative that ICE is the gestapo under Trump and their masking is the reason for anecdotal examples of imposters in 2025. It’s like the summer of the shark. When the media combs the country for mask stories they find a few.
I don’t think it undermines anything. The bottom line is that most people expect law-enforcement agents not to be masked and to be dressed in a way that identifies them as LEOs. There have always been men who have posed as police officers to robber or rape unsuspecting victims. The difference now is that they can get away with it even more easily if they portray ICE agents because ICE agents typically wear plain clothes and cover their faces.
