I don’t need his whole back story. Preview shows him being a kid, I only need to see how they got back together after going to Houston. I don’t think it needs a whole episode.

Ok, but I do and apparently the writers agree!

I would rather have seen a better story of Kevin and Sophie falling in love again instead of “I’m divorced, let’s fall in love again”

They never fell out of love.

I believe most of us are craving it!

I can’t wait!!!

Me too. I was underwhelmed by the Kophie reunion myself and really want to see Miguel and Rebecca's love story. I hope we aren't losing Miguel in this episode.

That would be way too fast. Let’s hope not.

I'm looking forward to the Miguel episode but I'll probably come away frustrated that the writers confined his backstory to one episode at the end of the entire series.

Yes, it was. And I cried anyway.

It had to be Sophie. I hated this convoluted episode. No way would he end up with Katie Lowes who was just introduced last week. And he and Cassidy have established multiple times that they are better off as friends. There were a few gems like Rebecca’s talk with Sophie towards the end but otherwise the episode could have been better after the highs of the last few episodes. But I’ve always been on Team Sophie so I am happy overall.

So much dynamite and so little POW! A shocking underperformance by the writers this episode. But all in all still a win. (Although Mandy Moore may have had the best scene when she talked to Sophie).

DP. +100 Mandy Moore has been having some awesome scenes lately. Has she ever won an Emmy? She is really a fantastic, natural actress.

No, she has not won an Emmy for this role. And that’s an outrage!

The Alzheimers arc will win it for her this time.

The kids were 17 when the house burned down. Sophie was Kevin's girlfriend at the time. It makes sense he carried the valentine in his wallet.

+1
I can't believe all of these details have to be spelled out for certain PPs.

The point was it’s the recipient, not the sender, who carries it — but a pp pointed out that a “yes” was circled and Sophie returned the valentine to Kevin. These are types of details the writers invite you to obsess over — it a hallmark throughout the series.

Yes, the details! Like how they often show the text messages characters are reading, which I can’t see from my chair, so I have to get up and go to the TV, and then it’s too late and so I have to rewind to read a detail I’d better not miss!

+1. She could have used her bestie during these years. I suppose Madison filled in a bit

Agree. And for Sophie and Kevin to agree to back together that quickly is ridiculous. The writers seem to be trying to quickly tie things up for a happy ever after for the kids.

+1 to both of these points. I found some of the Kevin/Sophie interactions very poignant/emotional, but suddenly Sophie is all in again because Kevin has supposedly become a great man - which Rebecca in her Alzheimer's state told her. I frankly would have preferred to see this wedding a couple of episodes ago - leave out the mystery of Kevin's hookup and leave Kevin and Sophie up in the air. Build the relationship over time, but leave it hanging and then have them together in the end in a nice reveal. He's 0 for 2 with her - in a BIG way.
