I think Westfield is in a weird position because:

2) Floris makes sense in terms of location and reunifying a split feeder school
3) It is weird to be vocal about "We want these ES to be moved because we are losing a lot of kids and we need those seats backfilled"
4) Most people don't want to anger others by demanding that their kids are moved to your school, regardless of how proud you are of the school.

It is a perfect storm made worse by the fact that Dixit lives in a neighborhood that should move and she doesn't want to so there is no chance that is going to happen.

This isn't accurate. Its a mix of SES kids moving out.

This. If there are multiple areas moving from one school to another, they just show the total amount. So the total number of kids projected to move from Chantilly to Westfield is 309, and that's what is noted when you click on each of the shaded areas (Brookfield and Cub Run). It's not broken down separately.

If you want to check you can look at the two areas moving from Marshall to Madison - one area (Wolftrap) is bigger than the other area (Vienna) but in each case it just notes that 130 students are moving.

Thanks for pointing this out. Either this sentence was added relatively recently or I've been overlooking it when looking at the tool.

Half of Brookfield is remaining at Chantilly. I don't see how that number is correct. I looked at the 3-6 grade numbers and get less than 400. No way 309 are going to Westfield from Brookfield. Even if you throw in the AAP who go elsewhere, that does not add up.

Seema has set Centreville up for success even if they don't get the expansion. They will be too full to take any kids from the new low income buildings: oh dear, they will have to go to Westfield. Darn!

That area is zoned Liberty/Centreville HS. PP is saying there will be a ton of empty seats left open by Seema on purpose at Westfield. Centreville will be overcrowded if its not expanded (and expansion would be incredible waste of money at this point).

Centreville doesn't have much to worry about. It's shedding a poorer neighborhood, it will only be at 101% capacity after the changes taking the existing modular into account, and it may yet get expanded, even if not to a ridiculous 3000 seats. It's Westfield that's losing 676 kids and will decline over the coming years.

They are moving 1062 kids from Westfield to Skyview, and moving back in 77 kids from the Centreville apartments and 309 students from Chantilly (the remainder of Cub Run and the Chantilly Mews slice of Brookfield).

We are zoned for Chantilly but I don't want Westfield to be trashed by this rezone. For one, its part of our community. For two, I don't want our school to become overcrowded with kids trying to avoid Westfield.
