What has been covered is that this story has greatly distracted from 38,000 mentions in the Epstein files.

Yes, this seems likely. Tucson is like 30 minutes from Mexico where I personally know people who have been kidnapped.

Agree with this and the maga folks will run with it. Especially if suspect fled across the border.

These type of kidnappings are common in Mexico and South America. I personally know a Colombian family who had a family member kidnapped. Ransom is paid and person is released.

Yes but there are ransom notes. There's wasn't one in this case until days later- and was proved fake. Then others came in...

New question (I think- I can’t read through all of the pages of this thread)- I heard on the news that the FBI has said that the decision whether or not to pay a ransom demand is up to the family.

My only knowledge of these situations is from tv/movies/books, and in those fictional settings the FBI always seems in control of how the family responds to kidnapping demands.

So I guess this was always wrong? Or is the FBI posturing in the case of Nancy Guthrie bc the family is going against their instructions by posting a video saying they’ll pay ransom?

I'm going with psychotic loner neighbor who would watch her coming and going. Was it a robbery gone wrong? Did he want her ATM card and PIN number? I'm sure the FBI is not telling us all they know.

Looks like Patel did well here

Patel did well? How about the digital restoration team?

Yeah, what has Patel said or done that's been good here?

Whoever got these images is the hero here. They almost certainly will lead to the identification of this person.

It is clearly planned and not opportunistic but it also doesn't seem like it is an experienced kidnapper or organized crime.

Of course, and shoe size.

Yes, height, measurements, etc. would be very easy to determine from this video. Features are what is hard.

I have to say, I wonder if this is a Mexican man. They more often have manicured eyebrows.

Had gun; face mask and gloves. And backpack. Definitely planned out.
Alone?

Why? Not for money, right? To scare SG? Why? If not for ransom, what is it all for?

Not super great planning. Noticed a camera, grabbed a bush? No tape? Nothing to smudge the camera? Didn't smash it? Somewhat planned but very sloppy.

I said this in the first few pages.

I said it’s gonna be a failure to launch kid who’s living with their parents. Someone who has a special-needs child freaked out because they don’t understand that that’s not failure to lunch.

It’s gonna be the son of one of the neighbors who has a criminal history who’s living with them.

I do hope you'll come back often and crow about how you solved it in the first few minutes. This is not a competition.

I'm certain LE has considered every person despite not having you directly on the case, Cagney.

+1

It certainly has felt like a contest between you witches trying to one up each other with unfounded, stupid scenarios. Let it go.
