Not really. BF has only been great for about the last half decade. They were decent beforehand, but their record was boosted for being in a weak district. In 2019 they were 10-7 and lost handily to just about all the good Fairfax teams they played. They only started being able to beat the Fairfax teams in about 2023.

If you talk historically in 6A teams like Robinson, Woodson, Madison, Oakton, Langley and Yorktown have much more history of being consistent powers. All of them have championship trophies and not just runner-up trophies too.

I think this is a very accurate list of the most consistently strong programs in Northern Virginia. I think teams like Chantilly, Centreville and Westfield have had good to very good teams over the years but have not been consistently good year in and year out. I would add for context, that the VHSL has officially recognized the girls lacrosse State Champion since 2006. Before that, it was just a Northern Region sport and I would say WT Woodson was the dominant program under Coach Bonham. Since 2006, here are a list of the teams that have appeared in the State Finals and their records:

Oakton - 8 appearances - 5-3 record, Champions 2006, 07, 08, 12, 23
Robinson - 6 appearances - 3-3 record, Champions 2015, 16, 17
Madison - 5 appearances - 3-2 record, Champions 2011, 13, 26
Langley - 5 appearances - 2-3 record, Champions 2019, 21
Woodson - 4 appearances - 1-3 record, Champions 2018
Yorktown - 3 appearances - 3-0 record, Champions 2022, 24, 25
Battlefield - 3 appearances - 0-3 record
Chantilly - 2 appearance - 1-1 record, Champions 2009
Western Albemarle - 1 appearance - 1-0 record, Champions 2010 (moved to class 4 in 2015 where they made 7 more finals (3-4))
Westfield - 1 appearance - 1-0 record, Champions 2014
Centreville - 1 appearance - 0-1 record
Colonial Forge - 1 appearance - 0-1 record

^ False. School opened up in Fall of 2004 and Kilgore was the first head coach for the glax program.
