This is misleading and you know it. That photo is still the correct photo of the person of interest. If you had actually read the article you linked you would know that people thought the photo looked just like Trump surrogate Joey Mannarino (and comparing them side by side I see a resemblance). But the hostel photo is the right one.

Wow, that’s a pretty terrible comment. A lot of people take buses now because they can’t afford trains or airfare.

Would the bus have even been full in the middle of the week? He seems pretty diligent about keeping his hood on and probably tried to go unnoticed as possible

The article (in what I agree is a tabloid) says that someone on X posted that picture with a picture of someone who looks kind of like that picture, and now people a accusing that other person. Similar to what people on this thread have done with “hey doesn’t he look like this famous person?” but maybe a slightly closer match and someone believed it.

It isn’t saying that the picture NYPD put out is wrong.

Media is reporting the bullet casings and live rounds found at the scene had “deny” “defend” “depose” written on them, so seems like the killer’s motive (or motive of whoever hired the killer) is indeed along those lines.
